    Overview
    I had made a map about six months ago called Sanctified that I was really proud of and it got a lot of positive feedback. There were also things about it that in hindsight I should have done differently, or not at all. I've gotten better at forging since then and forge itself has gotten more features and objects. So I decided to revisit the map in a sence. Sanctity is niether a remake or reimagining of Sanctified. I like to think of it as a direct sequel actually. I tried to take everything that was good about the origional and build upon that while also eliminating the problems and finally adding in some new ideas and giving it a new theme.


    Layout
    My origional vision 6 months ago was a BTB map that was akin to the classic bungie maps Blood gulch and Valhalla. I even wanted to borrow some elements from some newer forged maps such as Basin and Deadlock. I feel that Sanctity is much closer to that initial vision. The map when viewed from above is shaped like a "W" with each team spawning across from each other and duking it out in the middle areas. One of the problems with the last map was that it was too big and too wide open with lazy cover thrown about. This version is about 30% smaller and there is alot of natural and artificial cover that break up the sight lines. The lines of sight are still on the long end of the spectrum which was always my intention, but there is a better balance to it all now. In addition to that I have made the map more traversable for vehicles by opening up more routes and pathways and eliminating the large center gate. The map is also more traversable for infantry in the same way. More paths and side routes that are only accessible to infantry really create a nice flow for the map.


    Aesthetics

    I've had my heart set on a sangheilios theme for quite some time now. Long before any of us even new about the monitors bounty update. So in the midst of forging, when that update finally dropped, it really took Sanctity to the next level. I wanted to keep the map as custom made as possible though. I felt like spamming sangheili pillars and statues would kill the emmersion of it, so I kept the props to a healthy amount.


    Vehicles
    As far as vehicles go I kept it pretty close to what I had in the first version.

    2 standard warthog
    1 mantis
    1 Sword ghost

    I was tempted to put a ghost ultra on the map to better combat the mantis but decided against it because it mowed down infantry even better than the mantis. So I settled on the better armoured ghost and it still plays well. The mantis is one of my favorite vehicles in halo but in every map I see it in it is too easily countered by anti tank weapons. So it is a powerful element of this map and I wanted to encourage fighting over it.



    Weapons
    Because of the long sight lines I didn't want to put many weapons that could take advantage of that. So as far as power weapons there is the Binary rifle at mid map and 2 plasma casters, one in each base. Lastly there is 1 Voids Tear which is not on a weapon pad but I consider it a power weapon due to the fact that it is the best way to address the mantis and it is also very useful against infantry. The rest of the weapons/powerups are as follows

    1 hydra
    1 light rifle
    1 Overshield
    1 brute plasma rifle
    1 energy sword
    1 gravity hammer
    2 plasma turrets
    2 storm rifles
    2 scout DMRS
    2 carbines
    2 silenced tactical magnums
    2 needlers
    And a good amount of all 3 grenade types.
