Some of you may recognize this map as the winner of Forge Labs' March Forge Challenge. Since then, Zuper Dragon and I have updated the map a bit. We have fixed a few bugs and we've also changed a few things that we personally didn't like about the map.
This is a 1:1 scale remake of the red rocket station from fallout 4, complete with a radiation storm, an operable garage door, the broken sign, and post-apocalyptic garbage littered throughout. It is important to note that this map is currently ONLY compatible for infection. Due to our object count, we were unable to work around this and still have a finished product the Zuper and I both liked. However, we do plan on tweaking some things in order to come up with another version of the map that will be compatible with other game modes.
There are two main areas to this map, the station itself and the wasteland that is directly adjacent to it. Spartans will spawn very near the red rocket station where there are lots of options to hold out. You could hold out inside the station where it is very tight quarters or you can also reach the roof of the red rocket station where things are a bit more open and long lines of sight are available. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. There is also a military checkpoint, a crashed pelican, and lots of objects that can be used for cover in a pinch located throughout the map if you're more of a wanderer. In an effort to prevent the roof from being too open and OP, we forged what could have been a makeshift Raider outpost that involves barriers made from crates. While on the roof, be sure to keep your head on a swivel - zombies can get to the roof from more than one spot.
The infected spawn on the wasteland side of the map. From here, ill let you decide the best course of action to take. But there is a small crashed ship very near the infected spawn whose engine is still running and can be used to launch the player directly onto the roof of the red rocket station *cough *cough.
On this map there is a detached Guass Turret, an SMG, a spare Shotgun and a spare AR, a Magnum, a Halo 1 Pistol, a Railgun, a SAW, a Sniper Rifle, a DMR, 2 Splinter Grenades, and 1 Frag grenade.
There is one issue that Zuper and I are currently having with the map. The map lighting in custom games does not match the map lighting in forge, in custom games its much brighter (even brighter still when you're infected). This does not affect gameplay at all, but it does kind of annoy us since we can't seem to find a fix for the problem. So any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Again, this is an updated version from the map that won the March forge contest, so be sure to download this map directly from my bookmarks (I only have the newest version bookmarked), if you download the map from my files instead you may download an older version of the map.
Beware the toxic waste, it's deadly.
I really hope you guys enjoy the map, Zuper and I spent a ton of time on it and we're both really proud of it. If anybody would like to get a full infection game going on the map, message me (Renarded) or Zuper Dragon and we'll try to get one set up.
And remember, it's where you get your dog!
