    This is my 3rd attempt at recreating an iconic Halo: CE map. I like this one because it's relatively low complexity thus being a rather quick and fun build. It provides a good chance to learn the new controls of each forge and get a bit more comfortable. I don't plan on doing another remake if you're wondering :)

    I have a sketch I made in the Halo 3 era on graph paper that gets a pretty close approximation of the size of everything, but I like to look at what I'm making as well. I ran around Rat Race on Halo PC on one monitor while forging on the other.

    I determined that in Halo 5 you run 25'/s. Meaning that I could run a distance in Halo CE measuring the time it took then using that value determine with great precision exactly how big of a piece was needed. I did have to round a few numbers here and there so as to not waste a lot of frivolous pieces as well as not being 100% certain on my time values, but in general if you were to play this without Halo 5 abilities, the timing and spacing should be nearly identical.

    Halo CE had a much slower spartan with a tighter FOV so that will change a bit on how the map feels. But since this map uses all original spawns and weapons it shouldn't really change how the map plays.

    The exclusion of one sided gametypes like assault and flag really affects how much versatility of this map. As Strongholds/KoTH are similar I used 3 of the KoTH points for the strongholds gametype.

    I'm planning on making a non-classic version with some more modern era weapons on the map, but that requires a lot more testing and wanted to get this out there for people to enjoy. If you have suggestions feel free.

    Very clean, excellently reproduced map. Plays very well with Strongholds and is also fun with Swat and Oddball.

    I would recommend anyone running customs on this map to play it sometimes using settings that mimic Halo:CE (faster walk speed, no abilities). It really brings back the feel and is fun to change up
  2. Not much to say, an accurate remake, no hint of sloppy forging, and a blast to play classic modes on.

    I prefer flat "primitives" to "floors" but good work, rare map to be remade and especially done so well.

    Love the map dude, I can always appreciate a good H:CE map done justice. Any playtests done?

    Yup. There's some things about the original that should be changed for Halo 5 but as it is right now it's plenty fun. Since this is a direct remake, all spawns etc are copied from the original.

    I actually really like the floors with the Promethean pattern. But I prefer the original color scheme you have in the images above to what I was seeing while playing it in customs last night. Love this map, though, good times. Oh yeah, and we played it once using CE type settings, and the faster walk speed was good. I think it was too fast that time, but then more recently it was too slow. Just feedback I keep meaning to put out there! I also rated it five stars.
