8v8 Slayer

Map Description

  1. oo XM oo
    A unique asymmetrical map designed primarily for 8v8 Team Slayer. However it does have a strongholds variant that is somewhat different from a normal game of strongholds. At the start of the match each team has quick access to one stronghold. The third one is just out of reach. This would give an interesting balance for power until roughly 3 minutes into the game when the final stronghold base becomes readily available to fight for.

    It also supports a Neutral Flag game type however I have no idea how this would play out. Very curious.

    About:
    The map is completely asymmetrical and had two buildings. The main base has 5 levels, 4 of which are easily accessible. Level 1 of the main base requires a player to use a switch to either drop a energy barrier or open a secret passage, this will lead the player to the Overshield.

    The second building (or the 'Garage') houses a mantis. The garage is unable to be opened until 2 minutes and 47 seconds into the game. The garage also holds the third Stronghold base. Which again is not able to be captured until the garage opens, 2 minutes and 47 seconds into the game. (Mantis and Banshee are not available in Objective game types.)

    Map Specs:
    Power Weapons include:

    Rockets on 4 minute respawn timer
    Sniper Rifle on a 5 minute respawn timer
    Shotgun on a 3.5 minute respawn timer.
    (The timers in the video do not represent actual respawn times.)

    Vehicles include:
    2 Gungoose on 3 minute respawn timers
    1 Mantis that is NOT available until ~3 minutes into the game. The Mantis does NOT respawn after being disturbed/destroyed.
    1 Banshee that does NOT respawn after being disturbed/destroyed.
    1 Scout Warthog that is NOT drivable. Simply there to add aesthetic quality to the map.

    Power-ups include:
    Overshield that must be unlock via scripting terminals. It respawns every 3 minutes.
    Active Camouflage that respawns every 3 minutes.

    UPDATE:
    1.1 - Added Name volumes to most areas on map for easy callout solutions.

    2.0 - Moved a Stronghold Base outside for more natural / dynamic gameplay.
    Added some more outside nature elements.
    Tweaked weapon respawn times.

    This map has been play-tested for Strong-Holds but has yet to be tested with Slayer.
