For the Husky Raid contest.
This map is dedicated to the ancient city of Palmyra, in Syria. The ruins of Palmyra were destroyed in late 2015 by ISIS forces. The structures stood in the Syrian desert for nearly two thousand years, and had inspired centuries of architects and archeologists. The real Palmyra was famed for its triple archway, which stood over the entrance to the public arcade. Forge doesn't have the firepower to reproduce the ruins in such visible detail, so I chose to create a stylized version of them. Below are some photos of the ancient site, taken in the early 2000s.
