I wanted to make an underwater Octagon for pistol practice, but noticed that other maps I'd tried, often result in the surviving player having a huge advantage because they can anticipate, to a degree, where the killed player would spawn in. In 1v1, that's a huge problem!
(This can be enjoyable with up to 4 players, but the firefights get pretty chaotic, as this is best optimized for 1v1)
Post-update, this spawning system has been redesigned to be flawless and more sophisticated - newest scripting techniques employed...
Features:
- Random spawns - unpredictable combat where no player has an advantage
- Mechanical centerpiece - custom animated pieces, combined to provide some immersion and LOS break-up.
- An easter-egg
- Eight Sides
I also set out to make something underwater, because I had the idea that glass walls would look really cool there.
It also features an animated mechanical thingamajig, as a central obstruction to help players break up combat slightly. A few sparsely placed pieces of light cover bring this together nicely, in my opinion.
I have done some testing on PC with this, but would like to hear feedback from xbox users!
Post-update: This map has proven to be one of my most popular, with players regularly loading it up to play it and high level players seem to enjoy!
