Oblivion is Luckyyyy7’s first map on Halo 5, It offers a very fresh unique feel that breaks away from your typical slayer themed maps. There is no natural themed aesthetics like rolling mountains or deep space frigates. Its put together on the Breakout canvas which sets this map aside instantly from the norm. You could argue this is a simulated experience offering some natural themed walls and primitive blocks arranged to test the Spartans. Essentially this is somewhat very true, as this will put you to the test. Playing on this map you will not pay much attention to the canvas and instead focus on your way to navigate around the map and the design layed out. The walkways and ramps are quite clear but there is an abundance of hidden little routes nestled here and there which allow the veterans of this map the benefit of quick access and escape. The cover throughout is quite interesting as its quite minimal but given the height and compactness of the map it becomes very well balanced. Luckyyyy7 has put together some unique and deliberate decoration which combines aesthetics and tactical use well. With the assistance of DiGiTAL V1RUS they have created something of a bold challenging play space. As mentioned by Luckkyyyy7 himself most gameplay is found in the 2nd floor and this can be a challenge for the author to try share this combat to spread throughout. Oblivion is a very nicely built map with much more potential to come over time from this map and the author. Both are ones to keep an eye out for more progress in the future.
Note’s from Luckyyyy7– The map is a rebirth from an old child hood game (The floor is lava) where the main theme of the game is to not touch the ground. With 4 levels of combat (ground floor – built with a 10second kill timer. 1st floor (rockets spawns), 2nd Floor (walkways and the 4th floor. The maps most occupied location)
There is an optional custom gametype used for this map titled Down To which is essentially Shotguns and Assault rifles.
Powerups - There are 2 power ups on the ground floor (1 - speed boost, 1 – active camo.)
Spawns - Just over 60 spawns all together and 12 initial spawns (6 for red and 6 for blue)
Weapons -
Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, SMG & Splinter Grenades
Planned updates - (covenant update): changing rockets to plasma casters. (1+ extra mag) Changing Sniper to energy sword. Texture update. (Version name - Death to Oblivion)
