After he Anniversary playlist, it made me decide that this is not wort keeping so I deleted it. I now know how much this sucks compared to my other maps
Very enjoyable map. The design of the bases is an amazing look reminiscent of the old design, as well as adding in new elements that improve the look of the map for the better. This map is a great recreation of the old classic map in halo ce. Redesigned for the new gameplay of halo five
Hey there! I just got done checking out the map I wanted to give you some feedback.
It goes without saying that Beaver Creek is a Halo classic. As such, it has had many remakes and re-imaginations over time. Given this, it's important the author add some flair, or notability to their version. You accomplish that in some regards with the base design and the idol scripting for the air craft and sound affects.
The map is noticeably Beaver Creek as well, despite the changes.
However, the map had several issues and it generated some concerns.
The biggest concern was scaling:
Halo 5 is immensely different from CE. The gameplay and player flow alike is nothing like it used to be. Halo 5 allows you to move very fast around the map, which makes this map feel tiny. I was able to go from side to side in just seconds. With full teams, there would be no end to spawn killing because combat is so limited.
The underground tunnels were very cramped, and the side access parts can't be exited when standing up because the ceiling is so low.
The rock formations feel very small compared to the rest of the map, and the pathing for reaching the snipers isn't very clear.
My advice, reevaluate how you want the map to be presented. Do you want it to be closer to the original or do you want it to function properly on Halo 5?
Some bugs I noticed:
-The dead elite cannot be walked through and his body blocks players from walking under the arch
- The pelican will often come to an awkward dead stop before turning around. Can't tell if that is intentional.
-The map does not function for FFA, which is a minor issue
I'm curious to see what you do with the map, so please keep me posted. I don't mean to be critical, just looking to give pertinent feedback.
