Overview
Mycenae is a redesign of a map I made in Halo 2 Anniversary, Nero. The core layout remains the same, this is an arena style symm that hearkens back to elements of Sanctuary from Halo 2, and Zealot from Halo Reach.
Unlike its predecessor, this map definitely does not suit
1. That 8 player count
2. 5 Flag or bomb
Mycenae's optimal experience is instead going to be 2v2 Slayer, Strongholds, and Ball. Additionally FFA and 3v3's can be played here.
As previously mentioned, the core layout remains largely the same. The design revolves around a top mid structure which splits into a 'Y' shape. 'Y' prongs leading to the map's tentative power positions. These being top gold, blue snipe, and red snipe. The major change here is the new bottom mid which connects to bottom gold, and blue/red basements. These new routes allow more jukes/hijinx, and outplays.
Note, this video has an outdated weapon setup.
The respective blue/red snipe platforms contain 120 second 0 spare clip snipers, this time on weapon pads. Top mid now has an active camo in place of an OS which spawns every 90 seconds. Bottom mid a 75% Storm Rifle, and bottom gold a 1 spare clip Plasma Caster that spawns every 3 minutes.
