Mastery is my first hard jumping map in Halo 2: Anniversary. It includes a few of the hardest jumps, but in a very fair way. You can't die on this map if you stay on the course. There are no extremely long parts with an impossible jump at the end; the 'longest' obstacles
consists of five jumps only.
So you see, there is a bit of a philosophy that goes with this map. I wanted to make the hardest, but at the same time most fair jump map in Halo 2: Anniversary. The jumpers should be treated nicely on this map, there are several 'resting rooms' plus once you got an obstacle you'll never have to do it again.
Many people tend to make long sections with an endless repeating same obstacle, unforgiving jumps and killing grounds. They use these 'cheap' tricks - in my opinion - to make something very difficult. I didn't want to do that with this map, but at the same time I wanted it to be quite challenging. So I hope I found a good middle way.
As nice as it all sounds, spring jumps are required on this map aswell as other jump techniques. You have to struggle along this temple structure with nothing but your jumping skills.
Well... You could beat it with a friend if the map is too hard for you. Also you could go into Forge and check out the map's aesthetics, and try out some jumps here and there.
Coming to an end I want to wish you sweet jumps and good luck on this map!
