Map Description

  1. Morslupus
    And here is the Third installment of the Mantis Arena series. The theme on this one? A blizzard. Yup. It's snowy as heck and you have a problem seeing through it all.

    The map is split into a 3 tiered area with ramps, teleporters, and man cannons to help you traverse the snowy field.

    And for added fun, I added in nothing but Tundra Mantis onto the map for both teams to add into the theme of fun in the snow. They're not much stronger than a normal mantis, just a little bit extra armor, that's all.

    Anyway, the map has 5 strongholds to go with the theme I've had so far, and they're spread out pretty evenly and in an interesting pattern. But let me explain the lanes before we get too far.

    From spawn, each team is given 1 of 3 man cannon paths to choose from. Red, Green, and Blue (Just like ME3). These will take you to 1 of the 3 lanes on the map.

    Red is the lowest of the lanes and almost the most open. The stronghold is found in the "Red Treehouse" and there is a piston that takes you up to the 2nd floor of the "Treehouse" and allows you to get an angle on anyone trying to go for this stronghold.

    Green is midfield and the cave system. The Caves themself run nearly the entirety of the mid lane and have a plethora of rocks in it, blocking most lines of sight and creating a very tightly packed area for some interesting encounters. There is a Stronghold in the middle of this.

    Green midfield has both the Green outpost and snow mounds high enough to cover the mantis on either side of the field. No Strongholds here, but the Green outpost is both the landing site for the Red Treehouse mancannon AND the Blue Basement teleporter.

    Blue is the top lane of the map and has 3 Strongholds, 2 up top, 1 in the basement. Each team lands around their stronghold so I'd suggest sending someone to go grab this quickly before the enemy does. There's some extra forerunner style shapes and structures that prevent line of site across the lane and some additional cover to push up into, but there's not much and it's fairly open.

    Blue Basement is found one the opposite end of the field from Red Treehouse, down 1 of 3 holes. The stronghold is found in the center, and there is a man cannon that will take you backup top if you use it, but the breakout wall is also where a teleporter can be found that takes you into the middle of the Green outpost.

    Also, in Green out post, there is a fuel cell (Covenant) that activates doors that close the 4 openings in the outpost, thereby either protecting you for a few moments to recover, or hold someone in there who is following you.

    This map works with all 4 Mantis Gametypes and is the most recent of the maps I've been working on. It's good to be back and I hope you guys enjoy this!
