I know I helped make the map, but I’m going to review it anyway. TimeDipper deserves most of the credit here. At the beginning of H5, I struggled to make my own Lockout and looked for others to make one. Once we had figured out the lava trick, it was inevitable. I love Lockout, putting a new skin on it just made it better. This is hands down one of the best remakes in Halo 5 and is the best Lockout remake, fight me.

This map plays just as well as the original, but feels more tailored towards the Halo 5 weapon and player balance.

The visuals are stunning and the new setting really breathes fresh air and life into a classic map. No doubt this map was handled with much love and care. Ive had the pleasure of playing on this map multiple times and I can safely say it looks stunning, plays great, and would be a fine addition to any personal tourney or custom game!

The moment I caught wind of this inspiration on a classic, I couldn't wait to see the final product. Lockout has always been a community favorite for good reason; layout and gameplay on many grounds. As much as I enjoyed the layout of the map, reiterations that were in past Halo titles didn't leave me impressed for some odd reason. TimeDipper' toasty overhaul ignites my feelings towards the original. The background is as hot as the title of the map. After testing, this version of Lockout played smoothly with the Halo 5 standards we know all too well. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys small team capabilities with a flare to a classic map.

TimeDipper did this map up good. Like, it actually looks like it fits in Halo 5, and it plays as it should, true to the classic Halo 2 map. Did I say Halo 2 again? Oh, yes I ****ing did. I really like that game. I'm honestly jealous AF that TimeDipper pulled off the best Lockout remake in Halo 5 without my intervention. He should make another version of this map with icebergs and stuff.

Not only is this version of Lockout a carbon copy of the age old layout, but D4rkDeath and TimeDipper's striking lava lake and sulfuric atmosphere really bubbles up into the artwork, reinvigorating this iconic space with new life. It's a great play too, easily proving its worth and devotion to that of Halo 2's classic. Excellent work, gentlemen!

I've seen quite a few other Lockout remakes on this site, some were pretty good, others not so much. But in the end nothing really compares to the remake you guys have here. This map captures the exact same feel as the original, even though it has the complete opposite atmosphere. I really dig the firey, volcanic canvas you guys went with. The maps atmosphere just feels so amazing and natural, you could almost mistake it for a dev-made map! Well done Time and D4rk, well done. Keep up the amazing work!

It's rare to see a map with the aesthetic standards of this. All the other Lockout remakes I've played have a sloppiness to them that makes you want to puke while playing. Thematic inconsistencies, scaling being off, and just this overall "slapped together feel". Absolute disgraces in light of design principles. Your's however blasts away the expectations, with keeping the design and color choice balanced, united, bold and ubtle at the same time. I also love how faithful you are to the lore of your map, being a lava-harvesting facility. I was blown away, and while playing I couldn't get my eyes off of the damn screen. Good job. :)

This is what a remake should be. It plays fantastically and has a gorgeous aesthetic that kicks the **** out of most 343 made maps. Y'all keep up the good work.

This iteration of Lockout is fantastic. I want to get one thing across first and foremost; I don't like Lockout. I think the map is actually overhyped and pretty stale, like there are a handful of bridgework forge maps out there that are just as good if not better. That being said, I want to base my rating off visuals alone. (as we all know how Lockout plays. Its 13 years old.) D4rk and Dipper did stumble across a REALLY neat lava effect (And just weeks before I discovered the same effect. DAMN.) and it is in full effect here. I absolutely love the style change from cold and barren to sweaty and gritty and few other maps are more deserving of that style change than Lockout. Another standout feature to this as well is the unique style of the geometry. Its not necessarily Forerunner, but its also not UNSC industrial, like an interesting mix of the two. Come on, give us a Lava rendition of Waterworks already, you cowards! ;)
