1. Map Gameplay Changes

    THE DEADNAUT
Hello everybody, after a long 8 months without streaming, YouTube or Halo, I am finally back on Forge! I am currently focused on the Halo NBA Nationals map, which is my best map, but rest assured I am going through older projects, like this one.

After coming back to this map after so long, I've realised that some of my old expectations were a bit too far fetched. For example, by adding a second labyrinth, it made the whole feel of the map, draining to say the least. When you play infection, you want a smaller map for more engagement, excitement and scares, I found that some players found it hard enough finding their way around as the infected, so playing with people, like myself, as survivors left them completely clueless when we got through the door, and often we'd never be found by the infected, which caused a lot of boredom, however games where the infected were always close by added tension, which created so much more fun. This is when I realised that this map needed the focus of quality, not quantity.

I hope you guys are understanding with what I'm going on about here :D In short, I have come to a conclusion. I will be deleting the second labyrinth, and sticking to the main candle lit area, which people found a lot better anyway. When that is gone, I will be given over half a budget, and light map back, which will allow me to greatly improve the map quality within the already made area, especially as this map was made before the big forge updates. Below I will mention some of the updates to come:

    • As mentioned, the second labyrinth will be deleted, allowing me to make the original map a lot better. The hidden skulls and door will stay.
    • A safe haven will be created behind the door, meaning there is purpose behind the skulls and keeps the fun secret element of the map. Once Inside I was thinking of making a switch that teleports the infected player to their death, or finding another way to reward players.
    • With the new budget, new map contents will be added. As of now only 1 spear trap is on the map, with the new update I plan to add a lot more, and a secret switch that anyone can activate, that changes the map layout, which can be used to confuse and trap survivors, or escape from the infected. (I will leave a spoiler which contains the actual full map layout below).
    • New decoration will be added with the new forge items to make the map a lot more, well pretty, or creepy, not only this, but I plan on making a way for the monster to get around the labyrinth a lot easier, making more engagements and more tension.
I hope you guys will enjoy this news, and can understand why I have made these changes
This is for the players who are interested to see what the new change will look like in a simple perspective, it's also a way for players to see where all the secrets are if they are having trouble:

This is a basic layout of the maze

For the nerds out there like myself, this is a complete layout of the maze, with the key below. One block = 16x16
    [IMG]
    Yellow Signs - Traps
Green Outlines - Blocks that will move to create an opening
Red Outlines - Blocks that will move to block the way
    Question Marks - Secret Entrances
Skulls - Items for the door
Small Yellow Circle - Button to change layout of map
Door - Well, the door :p
Red / Blue Blocks - Survivor and infected spawns
