Map Description

  1. Foge
    Remake of the halo 2 classic Beaver Creek. Tuned for halo 5 mechanics, yet still extremely faithful to original gameplay.

    Decided to make this map after seeing a couple of Beaver Creek remakes that I thought really didn't feel like Beaver Creek.

    Lighting is a bit of a problem in some spots on the map, but hopefully will get fixed in the near future. If anymore lights are added, noticeable frame drops can be seen.

    Create re-make. Slight problem in areas with low lighting. Makes it hard to know where you are going. But other then that we love this map!

    This is a fun slap of nostalgia! You put a lot of additional detail and work into making this a more immersive environment. I would prefer a closer weapon layout with a few twists, but the layout you have does work well still! The glass river is a hard choice and I might suggest decal lighting. I understand it is hard to get real water in the middle because of the basement in the bases, and that elevating the bases to achieve that may pull away from the authentic feel of the original. The grav lifts add a better touch for Halo 5 in my opinion and make the map feel a little bigger by eliminating the back route and creating more gameplay on the roof. This has to be the best playing and best looking remake of this map I have seen, well done!

    I took a look at this before it was posted here at ForgeHub. Nice you did those updates I was willing to tell you.

    Amazing remembrance of this one. The visuals fit perfectly for the jungle concept. You transformed an iconic map into a new experience, even when the layout is perfectly remade. Very detailed and pleasing to the eye.
    Gameplay is fun with little issues, but well, I know this is a remake and doesn't attempt to play H5 mechanics so I will not go deeper on that. Good job!

    It looks very much like the Halo 2 version. Hopefully someone will remake the Reach one too.

    This map's jungle/ruins aesthetics are spot on! I did find the hallways in the bottom of the bases to be a bit tight...perhaps a bit too narrow and they could be a bit wider? I'm also not sure about the gravity lifts instead of the teleporters, just because it is such a classic component of the map. However, I like the art direction you went with big time!

    It was important to me for the map to still be as much like the original as possible. Which is why the hallways are that size they are roughly the same size as they were in halo 2. As for the gravity lifts, in testing I found that the teleporters caused too much randomness and substituted the grav lift instead. Everyone in testing loved this addition as it caused players to have to take more control of the map, rather then just getting a quick teleport behind people. And I appreciate the feedback, Thanks!

    There were teleporters in Beaver Creek and Battle Creek, but in the Halo 2 Anniversary version, it was grav lift. Teleporters were in little caves behind the bases.

    I really love that map. I went in Forge to add some little thing, just to see, I added grass everywhere where the ground is green, and it's really cool. I just notice that my version with all these details got some framerate drop if you are to in the highest points.

    I think it's possible to delete some of the grass pieces to prevent that problem without deleting all of it to add some details on the ground.

    If you want to see, my GT is Grievous32, you'll find your map with the same name + v32.

    Really nice job.

    I also agree with weeeeemann. Halo 5 is not Halo 2, that's why the hallways are generally wider, to allow Spartans to use their abilities (Charge is really difficult to use in little place, and the dash could be useless) but... There's a good point to that is to force players to be careful about that in the base.

    Had a blast on this map this past weekend. It will be a staple in our custom games playing for quite a while. Played some classic rockets only on here and laughed to good ole memories of CE days of the same. Great map! Good job bud.

    Only issue is sight lighting in some areas. But its worth it for how good it looks else where. Maybe if you could turn everything just a little bit? IDK. Had some frame rates issues as well but that could have just been the crazy amount of rockets we had flying around ;)
