    Hey guys, thought I'd finally share something I've been working on for a while now. (hope it's not too late :()

    Out of all the forge creations by WyvernZu, there's one map in particular which I've enjoyed playing in H5, and one day I had a crazy idea...

    "how would the famous Doom inspired arena map play in competitive modes?" and so, I went and did a thing...

    Here is: Infusion Redux

    Now you can enjoy competitive Slayer, objective modes CTF/Strongholds, and Oddball in this wonderfully crafted arena made by the very talented and well known forger, Wyvern.

    I have also kept Infusion's original form, with all of it's weapon spawn placements intact, and made it playable from the minigame Doom-themed deathmatch mode, so you can still enjoy the max nostalgia of old school arena fps, as was intended by the maker.

    So this is or isn't your map? Did you just modify and existing layout and if so how? We need a lot more detail on how you took a minigame and transformed it into a core map, 'cos that's a bit of a leap.

    You should have an overview of the differences with more pictures for elaboration. I know Halo5 is dead but come on people, its like no one cares to put effort into their posts anymore. All that's gonna do is turn the remaining community members off.

    Anyway, its Doom so I'm still gonna check it out and regardless. Also I wanna congratulate you on having the balls to do something this out there. :)

    Umm...
    but ok... I guess you are correct in some cases, so allow me to elaborate on my post here.


    No, this is not my original map... I have simply changed weapon(s) & spawn placements to accommodate core/competitive modes.

    There is no major changes to the layout... however, I have touched up a few areas, such as (e.g.) adding a forge prefab fenced wall to change the flow of movement slightly in one section... and a few extra things here and there.

    Some effects/sounds/scripting have been added to enhance the maps general mood and atmosphere.

    I have also kept the maps original form by making it available through a separate minigame mode variant, which I have also applied all the settings from the original Doom game mode Wyvern created along with the og map.

    Apologies for the lack of detail and confusion, I will try to add more info and pictures soon, when I'm able to.

    How'd I never think of this. Could've moved a couple weapons in full metal and won the 4v4 contest...

    I didn't know this was a contest... nor do I care about being involved in any contests, here or anywhere else.

    OK, sorry for having real life commitments on the side getting in the way of my gaming life.

    Ok... and you've all completely missed the fact that I wasn't trying to claim ownership of the map, nor was I trying to get any praise out of what I did,

    (making it compatible with core modes)

    and have instead jumped to conclusions...

    Great display of friendliness if I've ever seen before in this community btw,

    Well... its Wyv's map... and you've posted it to FH with the most minimal amount of change you can physically do to a map. So I'd call that claiming someone else's hard work and repacking it as a cheap cop out to working on something original.

    No, but you posted someone else's map to a site that prides itself in hosting beginners to competent map makers, so no, that **** doesn't fly round here. Especially when you have forgers at your level that still put the time and effort into making something that's 100% theirs regardless of its brilliance in art or level design.

    Tbh, if this stops you doing ripping off other peoples maps in the future, then I'd say this thread was a massive success for the community.

    Oh, and this really isn't personal. Make somet else and post it and I'll probably sing your praise if its good. Was just unlucky it had to be me that saw it first.

    So, according to your "professional" opinion...

    putting in work on top of an existing creation that "may" or "may not" be of someone else's doing, to make it "at worst" reasonably playable in more game modes (and basically expand it's possible uses in multiplayer), regardless of it being a polished job or not (you really should look at this in forge to see exactly what I've done first before you go ahead with the criticism, but I'll admit that I also didn't initially make an effort of showing my work here) and putting in the time, to make something (arguably better) available, while not expecting any kind of recognition, credit, etc... and just doing it for the fun and love of it all...

    is considered a cheap cop out?

    Well... I see now what a cesspool of arrogance this place has become. Maybe I'll just take it all down then and we can forget this ever happened.

    This is why we can't have nice things.
