Building off of the groundwork for Covenant aesthetics that I laid with Reliquary, and due to my preference for the Halo 2/Halo 3 Covie style, and my excitement for Grifball’s eventual release, my mind immediately jumped to the Prophets’ Council Chamber on High Charity. You may remember this room as the starting room for the mission The Gravemind in Halo 2. I aimed to recreate that room, but sized up to a Grifball arena. The map came together a lot more quickly than I honestly thought it would, and I had it done in about two days. Have I mentioned that this forge is incredible? But I digress.
A large part of my inspiration for this map came from the miniature Dreadnought on Sarizon’s Gemini remake. With the assistance of CaptainPunch374, we created a miniature version of the inside of High Charity, with the Dreadnought, city, and the dome with the beam of light in the center. Ships can be seen flying through the city during the intro.

    10/5,
Visually the High Charity looked great and definitely gave off a covenant consistent theme throughout the map. I also thought the intro cinematic was really creative as well as the smooth game play. Several Grifball maps I played either were to large or too small however High charity felt like the right size. I hope 343i puts this map into matchmaking.
  2. Stunning visuals and appropriately calculated dimensions leave the player stricken with a sense of awe as he or she travels back to High Charity. With 343i's blessing, this Grifball court should be in Halo 5's matchmaking! Excellent work
  3. Super clean Covenant Theme topped off with an epic reproduction of the High Charity cityscape in the intro camera. Aesthetics are both strong enough to make it feel like you really are somewhere on High Charity (in whatever universe the Covenant would want to watch Spartans play a ball game) while not distracting from the gameplay or effecting court dimension specifications.

I'm still astonished by how clean and lifelike the covenant aesthetic is on this map. The intro is extremely cool, the court is easy to navigate thanks to the coloured flooring, and the overall atmosphere is simply breathtaking. I've repeatedly booted this up over the week just to walk around and look at piece usage, and the atmosphere always soaks you up.
