Map Description

    Helheim is built for Extermination only, and is not compatible with other gametypes. You can find ATN's Extermination game mode here.

    Helheim is designed around the concept of 'reverse Valhalla'. If Valhalla was a Forerunner interpretation of heaven, Helheim is is that concept but applied to hell. Although in norse mythology Helheim is a frozen wasteland, I took the the theme in a direction more in line with Christian hell and built the map around a lake of lava. The structure of the map itself is designed to mimic a literal forge, with a giant anvil like platform in the middle and a pool of molten lava.


    Helheim features two main areas - the central pit with the lava flow, and a U-turn platform that extends off over the cliff ledge. In the current build, a Dying Star spawns in the middle of the pit, and a damage boost spawns at the tip of U-turn.

    Loved the aesthetics and layout of the map. My only problem with it was that my eyes got distracted A LOT with all of the colors and everything that is going on. If you fixed that though then it would be just a plan old layout so i wouldn't worry about it. Great map!

    You've got some cool aesthetic ideas but the forerunner pieces kill it; extremely busy to look at. See if you can replicate the general shapes out of primitive and less detailed pieces and you'll come out with something way more focused. Dig the color scheme, I've always loved the black & red/orange/yellow pair as you can see from my sig.

    Hey thanks for taking the time to check it out and share something constructive! You're not the first person to say the map is busy, so I appreciate some specific tips on how to make it less so. I've got a few forge projects on my plate at the moment, but I do plan on taking another pass through this map in the future. I've got a good number of pieces left so when I do, I'll try this suggestion out.
