8v8 Strongholds

Map Description

  1. Nick.v.ck
    After weeks of forging, I'm finally finished with my asymetrical infantry only BTB map. The map has a H2 Forerunner styled theme. (most suited for BTB Strongholds)

    There are 4 main Areas:
    - The Ground Area, with a canyon filled with molten lava in the centre (Binaryrifle).
    -Mid Area, where the bridge connects Orange Hall with Pit Base (OS)
    -Stairs Area / Top Mid, which connects Orange hall with Top Nest
    -Top Nest, where the Railgun's place is. This is the Place where you have the whole map in sight.


    I also used a lot of scripting, to get the 4 Lifts working.

    Not a problem, I try and give feedback on as many new forges as I can, where I am no expert. Feedback is feedback.

    So I just got done running around this map and from what I can tell there is nothing game breaking but there were a few things that sort of bugged me that are rather small.
    - There is a dark wall piece sticking through near splinter grenade spawn bottom red.
    - The ledge on green lift seems unfinished and with the verticality I dove straight off.
    - Binary rifle spawn needs to be easier to access for general audience. Doing parkour is fun, but some people really struggle.
    - Try and place a kill barrier on the "lava" for a more authentic feel and threat.

    I didn't see anything that would break flow of gameplay. Hope this input helps.

    I think one way you could better-achieve the Lava look is to use a lava colored Chroma right above the barrier you have, and then also use a kill barrier. Then using some lights above to apply a Gobos (the ones that look like water) could help make it look more like Lava.

    Or even a few killballs.

    yeah, I'll rework the whole lava area, the more I see it, the less I like how it looks. Thanks!

    Thanks for the input mate. I realised there are a lot of dark or black objects on this map. Forge sometimes is quite buggy. You can't turn lightbaking on, on some objects,. which is frustrating, to say the least...
