PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE ATTACHED GAMETYPE TOO. My remake of the Ops room & hallways of Hadley's hope from James Cameron's aliens, where Ripley, Newt and the marines made their last stand. A rather small map, but accurate.
Attach a survival infection gametype to it! Make the infected spawn in the ceiling, level floor, and beneath! Script doors to open at a certain time to hold out infected, have a floating Pelican waiting a distance away from the colony. Go the extra mile!
The Aliens spawn in a box, which contains a teleporter. The receiver nodes are on the ceiling in Ops, and in the hallways near the sentries. Originally, it was possible to bust in through the floor too, however I've been having an object count crisis with this map, so a lot of your suggestions simply can not be done because i'm at max object count! And I've already gone round a few times trying to find anything I can delete that I don't need in order to improve/expand the map light map is nearly maxed out too :/ Door scripts however, I will consider this. And there is an attached gametype, I put the link in for the supported custom type.
One more thing. I tried making the doors take longer to open (which is no problem), but I want the sender node that connects with the receiver nodes in the ceiling to spawn only when the door opens enough for players to entre. Now I know what to do in terms of scripting in order to achieve this. However, the scripts simply DONT WORK. I tried a few ways. Here's a couple Pallet On abandoned/disturbed despawn: time 30s Script 1: On message received: xray move offset -30 -30 -30 time 1 Script 2: Death/deletion, send message: tango Script 3: at round start spawn Sender node: Script 1: at round start despawn Script 2: On message received: tango, spawn The other way was to put the pallet in the way so players would have to smash it to get through, and scrap script 1. Problem was, the pallet never despawned. I even tried moving offset on normal physics so it would fall and break; it worked but no message sent to sender never spawned. And the other script, the pallet sent the message whether it was destroyed or not.
