I felt my previous pickup set was far too powerful for a small map and therefore hurt the balance for smaller player counts particularly 1v1 games. The pickups have been tweaked and tested to make the map viable for 1v1 matches.
- Replaced OS with Damage Boost
- Replaced Grenade Launcher with Hydra
- Replaced Plasma Rifle with Suppressor
- Removed Splinter Grenades
- Changed Gunfighter Magnums to standard Magnums
In H2A I used an Overshield spawning every 60 seconds in the lower hallway as a useful way to speed up map flow however in H5 the OS is stronger so to compensate I increased it's spawn time to 90 seconds. I felt this slowed the map down as the OS in H5 is more balanced towards 4v4 games and it does not perform so well for smaller player counts.
This also caused me to place a Brute Plasma Rifle to counter the OS however this weapon is more powerful than I would like for an automatic that takes little skill to use and again it hurt the competitive viability of the map for 1v1.
Unfortunately the Grenade Launcher blast has a much larger kill radius than Reach's and over time this weapon has proven to be overpowered in tight arena maps. So it has been replaced with a low ammo Hydra which works closer to the role of the Brute Shot from H2A in being a light but effective pickup to help counter the maps power position.
I decided to change the gunfighter magnums back to the standard versions as I wanted more balanced pistol duels taking place and I felt having two pistols with different fire rates made engagements awkward.
Don't know why I had Splinter Grenades in the first place (those things are broken!)
Overall I have lightened up the pickups to allow for more competitive skill based 1v1, 2v2 and FFA matches.
