    About:
Eye of Eywa is a standalone, Aesthetic landscape inspired by the Tree of Souls from James Cameron's 2009 sci-fi film: Avatar. I had originally been inspired to make this scene after watching Avatar: The way of Water in theatres.

    Collaborators:
    Tree prefabs produced by: Azwilko1997

    Development:
For this map, I wanted to encapsulate the world of Pandora as a whole. To do this, I created a collage of POIs from the film & merged them into one play space for the player to explore.

    These POIs include:
    - The Tree of Souls
    - A Na'vi campsite
    - A Pandoran jungle path
    - A nest of Banshees.

    Challenges of the map:
The world of Pandora has a unique landscape & foliage set. I knew it would be a challenge to recreate the different alien plant life & the overall atmosphere. For this, I had to really think outside the box & get creative with some of the pieces. For example, the vines on the Tree of Souls are actually UNSC hanging wires with an emissive texture applied to them. For the plants, I did a mix & match of vegetation and applied a light source in the center. If angled right, the light source bounces off of the assets mesh, creating its own emissive glow. This gave the plants a more alien look.
