Map Description

  1. D4rkpr1nc3
    This is a close to 1:1 (slightly up scaled) Remake of the Halo 4 big team battle map, Exile.

    I had Halo 4 up and running throughout the process and did my best to preserve as many run times and sight lines as possible as compared to the original map. I used run times instead of measuring with crates/vehicles to allow for the map to play better with the Halo 5 sandbox.

    The power weapons on the map are 2 Sniper Rifles, 2 Saws and the Spknr rocket to best emulate Halo 4 chaos on this map.

    Blue team spawns with a gauss hog and Red team spawns with a faster route to the scorpion in the cave like in Halo 4.

    This map supports FFA, Big Team Slayer, CTF and Assault.

  1. This map is a favorite of mine from Halo 4, and D4rkpr1nc3 did an excellent job of painstakingly reconstructing this playspace in Halo 5's incredible and powerful forge. This map plays well, and looks as good as it plays. I would not mind seeing this in matchmaking for BTB; job well done
  2. There are only two reasons that this isn't getting a full 5. 1. I reserve perfect scores for wholly original maps, and 2. I know the map is still being completed.

    Overall, this is a fantastic remake that accurately provides the look and feel of the original. Highly recommend!

    About time someone did this H4 map justice! This map plays extremely well and is a great vehicle BTB map. H5 BTB needs more maps like this in matchmaking.

    Stunning map. This is the best BTB map from Halo 4! Amazing job and attention to detail.

    Seriously, thank you SO MUCH! This is the map that I've been hoping someone would make since Forge dropped!

    Scaling is waaaay off man. That's your remake's biggest problem. I think you should you should compress the map

    I know the tank side is more open than in Halo 4, but the other side is very close, do you have suggestions and points to look at?

    I made the map based on run times as opposed to measuring it with crates or vehicles so that it would play better with the halo 5 sandbox. I don't want to have use a halo 4 game type for people to play on the map.

    But I am open to suggestions.

    I might just be imagining it, but wasn't the tank-side bridge elevated a bit more from the land around it? Doing so would cut down on the sight line down that side of the map and keep it from appearing too open.

    I looked it up; all three bridges are just slightly higher. Not necessarily a deal-breaker; I know your budget must be just about shot. The difference isn't that much anyhow.

    Here's my suggestion. Just scale it like it was back in Halo 4. You won't need a Halo 4 gametype. Just use the basic Halo 5 BTB gametype.

    Halo 4 had sprint too so you don't have to worry about the map being too small for Halo 5. Yes, we have other abilities like spartan charge, thruster, clamber, and all that but I really don't think you have to make this remake accommodate those settings. Look at some of the good existing remakes now. Citadel, Narrows, Construct, etc. None of those maps were scaled way up and they still play well with Halo 5 settings.

    Trust me man. Your remake is overscaled. Which is a shame because your aesthetics are on point.

    I think banshee side is fine, but you are definitely right about the sight lines on tank side, I'll see if I can clean those up
