Map Description

  1. Orion VII
Equilibrium is the first map by DiGiTAL V1RUS. This map is designed for four team objective focussed gameplay originally intended for Oddball. From the start of the game each team is set from their respected team base behind a glass wall. Players have the choice to lower this wall with the button in front of them. Instincts will tell you to push this button to allow you to progress toward the centre of the map and to the power weapons. But a second option Is available, by ignoring this button and dropping off the back of your team base you can allow yourself to grab a carbine and make a sneaky dash for another teams flag along the lower outside of the map. Behind each base there is a man cannon that will launch you up and into team bases. This give you the option to lower their glass wall or capture their flag. But be warned, players who have raced to the two sniper rifles on the map will be ready to open a hole in your head. The two sniper rifles situated in a high nest are limited on ammo as to avoid over powering those who managed to obtain them. The center of the map is split into two levels the first floor a small drop hole leads directly to the rockets ready to reward or blow apart anyone nearby. This can a perfect answer to those snipers in the nest or make short work of anyone running to use the grav lifts to the first floor underneath the sniper nests. While this map can be played well with small teams of two or three it is best suited for four teams of four to fully utilize its size and capture full team work potential. It’s easy for players to pile out on start and obtain power weapons and run to the objectives but without someone playing defence you are sure to find yourself sat with a flag the whole game without any points. The fact that you have three teams to worry about and not the one makes this map all the more interesting and adds a fresh feel to the standard CTF. Digital Virus and Luckyyyy7 have done an excellent job on the balance between sight lines and cover throughout the map. Allowing players to duck behind cover as and when needed.

    From Digital Virus -
The main theme behind the map “Equilibrium” is symmetry, each of the four teams are evenly met, leaving the only advantage on the map being skill and determination.
Currently the map only supports Capture the Flag (Set with a neutral flag located in the centre of the map), however once Oddball is deployed this map will go on to support that game mode too.
Scattered around the map evenly are a select choice of weapons. From SMG’s, Carbines, Battle Rifles & Needlers easily accessible from the teams spawn, to the more elite weapons such as the Sniper Rifles, Rocket Launcher, Suppressor and DMR.
There are also grenades scattered here and there, Splinter Grenades outside and Plasma Grenades in the centre, and finally Frag Grenades in the teams spawn.
Also out in the open of the map, directly in the centre. Is a Speed Boost which is key for manoeuvrability around this map and can quickly turn the tides.

As well as the many platforms and ramps, there are also man cannons based in each teams spawn. One of which will be at the back of the spawn, firing you into the air onto the above block. The other which is located in front of the neutral spawn locations will transport you to a sniper tower.
All these methods of transportation are a key aspect of the map and allow easy transportation in returning your flag.

Equilibrium can be downloaded via the Halo Waypoint fileshare. DiGiTAL V1RUS is a member of Orion VII Spartan Company created by UK based gamers who wanted to cater to forge and the custom game modes within halo 5, as well as the competitive scene. Boasting 60+ active players and growing, we hold a number of in clan event evenings, and are looking to expand into Grifball and the ESL arena.

    Updates – Plans.

Once the game mode Oddball has deployed, that will become a playable mode on Equilibrium, and will feature some new weapons, spawning locations and new transportation options.

This map is also going to get a full make over for the game mode infection, which will include some new arrangements, lighting, textures and more.
