Map Description

As a wee little forger in Halo: Reach, I made a map I was really proud of: Gunpoint. It was a simple urban layout with the crowning feature of a working (albeit very clunky looking) zipline. It remains one of my favorites from those days, and unfortunately the zipline remains an elusive relic of days past, as I have not been able to replicate it since.

However, the layout was always nice, even without the gimmick. I've remade this map before in 4 using a thick pipe that could be walked across instead of the zipline, and changed the theme to an oil refinery: Petroleum. It worked, but I felt it lost a lot of the original's themes. Now with the expansive options in Halo 5 forge I was able to revitalize the old gray and blue map from Reach into a colorful urban environment for the first time.

To substitute the zipline this time around (even with scripting I couldn't possibly know where to begin) I added a thin rope between the buildings. It's there in spirit. The gap can still be traversed through sprinting, jumping, then boosting, but the line provides a way back up and over the middle. The original was built with shield doors, man cannons, and a very broad surface to glide on.

I haven't played an actual match on this map since Reach, and haven't really finished it here either. Spawns are still wonky, there's no grenades and only four weapons on the map sans the two power weapon pads, and there's probably some more aesthetic stuff I could still work on. But I figured I'd get this out there, since it's been sitting around for months now.
