Map Description

  1. Something CEsar
Another remake from the Halo CE 1.5 mod. If you aren't familiar with Halo 1.5, Decidia is a map very similar to Chill Out because of the covenant theme and similar map layout. The map is room based with two levels to it, two major rooms, and about four smaller rooms that are all connected by narrow hallways and teleporters.

The map is rescaled for Halo 5, but it still plays with Halo CE in mind. Download "CE TS" from my gametypes fileshare to go with the map when 2v2s are played.

    Gamertag: "Whats a CEsar"

    Layout:
Weapon (ammo) - time (timer type)
    1 Sniper (4 +0) - 60 seconds (static)
    1 Rocket (2 +2) - 120 seconds (static)
    1 Plasma Pistol (80%) - 30 seconds (disturbance)
    1 SMG (60 +60) - 45 seconds (disturbance)
    1 Bolt Shot (24 +48) - 30 seconds (disturbance)
    1 M6D (12 +48) - 30 seconds (disturbance)

    1 Active Camo - 60 seconds (static)
    1 Overshield - 60 seconds (static)

2 Frag Grenades (paired) - 15 seconds (despawn)
1 Plasma Grenades (paired) - 30 seconds (despawn)
4 Splinter Grenades (single) - 90 seconds (despawn)

    Here is some original gameplay:

I'll be modifying the layout later for halo 5 default settings once everything is fixed and tested.

Wow. Once again, great job! Everything, including the scale fits well for Halo 5.

Love your maps dude, and kudos to the original creators for making such awesome maps, but the one thing that breaks my heart is that these aren't 1-1 remakes. Is there a chance that you'll do that eventually?

You can check out my 1-1 chill out remake in my fileshare, "chillout classic" or something like that. To be honest though, it just doesn't work because of H5's lower field of view, larger spartan models, etc. The majority of people who play these maps are probably also going to use default settings with maybe a CE pistol instead, rather than carefully tuned CE settings.

Yes, you could turn on the "FOV out" option in forge (which really doesn't fix anything), remove all armor abilites, modify movement accel, movement speed, jump height, gravity... but it just won't be the same. There are just too many fundamental differences between the 14 years of Halo games to accurately convert one to the other with basic tools such as forge and custom game options. So the answer is probably no for now.

You'll notice that these remakes are fit for CE type settings and the overall scale isn't really changed, I just change size of certain rooms or hallways if I think it's necessary. For example, Downrush is the same size, except the waterfall area is slightly larger and the distance between levels is greater. In prisoner, again, I just made it taller, same for wizard. Decidia is almost exactly the same size, the only difference is that the hallways are wider.

In these remakes, I try to do my best to make you seem like you're playing the original without making you feel crammed. If you want though you may take all of these remakes and shrink them how you want. If you open up CE on another xbox or on custom edition (pc), I'd recommend launching what ever map with Oddball so you can drop the OB where ever you want and use the distance indicator that shows up above the ball to measure all the dimensions of every wall you need.

Also, I'm glad you like these remakes for the most part.

Judging by that gameplay this map looks spot on! I for one agree that the scale must be changed supported by your previous reasons, defiantly makes gameplay smoother for H5's mechanic/sandbox changes. Also, the next update will have a biohazard decal, so you could include that as well!

It's funny that you mention that they are adding the biohazard decal, because I was looking for that thinking it already existed. Then when I realized it didn't, I remembered they are adding infection. So that will be good for polishing.
Also, I'll invite you for testing which I haven't really done to much of yet (since you offered earlier).

Yeah just remembered that! I'll gladly help test when the time comes around.
