Map Description

  1. A Haunted Army
complexion is a map designed for fast paced, vertical competitive play. the main goal of the map was to have overlapping bridges so that if you fall off you are more likely to land on a lower part of the map while using verticality to control most of the lines of sight.

    active camo is 90secs
    rockets is 2mins
both are set up to be static using scripting

    credit:
purely fat (helped get topmid done initially)
secretschnitzel (rocket platform idea and camo)
    warholic (rocket platform and scaling)

    5/5,
This sadly is probably the only map we've been testing for HCS that I don't care for much. The design is very originally designed and very cleanly forged. The problems I have with it though is that all the cover is very "swiss cheese-ee" (for a lack of better term), that there doesn't seem to be any flow or real routing in the map aside from try to move upward and that there are no spots on the map that you actually want to be. Not that it's bad but it's only not great in my opinion.

I'm glad people are liking it though and best of luck to getting it in HCS.
  2. Very accurate name for the map because it is really complex. I find it to be difficult to navigate and tough to prioritize the lines of sight that you need to control or focus on because they are jumbled and broken up by weird angles that off-puts the straightforward understanding I want when entering a competitive-type symmetrical arena. When going down some ramps I was knocked into the air which just means the map isn't as polished as it could be. I really like the power weapon locations and being able to knock down the invis. There is also a very high potential for navigation creativity that allows players to find unique ways to navigate the map. The pros slightly outweigh the cons so I'll give it a solid 3-stars.

    8/5,
I really enjoyed this map. Extremely original design however I still think the highest point on the map is punishing for those players trying to get time in the hills placed near the initial spawn points! Keep up the good work Haunted!

Great work Haunted, I think this is your strongest design and was glad to help out with testing and feedback. The evolution of the map was great to see and I'm really content with the new rocket platform. Structural cover maps are very difficult to design, so I'm glad you felt like challenging yourself on this one.

I'll be honest those angles definitely caught my eye, looking at giving this a few runs and posting a rating!

@iparanormal, i don't know where you're having the issue of being knocked in the air when trying to go down a ramp because all the ramp 2x2 and 1x2's used are joined smoothly with the blocks using both magnets and coordinates, i even spent a whole day wrestling with object shift to get everything smooth and camo working before uploading the map so it's as polished as can be.

the rest of your review just sounds like you're saying a steep learning curve with a decent amount of depth is bad? that doesn't make any sense.

All those rocks added make the map look a lot better imo, although doesn't that create framerate problems?

it did. when i ran around on his rocky version i noticed some stutering here and there but it does help with depth. if i get specifically requested to do something similar for tournament or MM use i'l do it otherwise i'm happy with how the map is.
also, updated the pics to reflect the skyward version but both can be found in my fileshare.

Frame drops were negligable...would really need to test it out first. I think you should totally do it Haunted! Great job bringing this map to the 'Skyward' canvas, and in only a few days! I'm really excited about this map. I hope we can retrain how others play and make their lives a little more complicated. There's a lot of depth on this map with the design alone.
