Map Description

  1. BLOODxcrazer
    Welcome back, Commander! Your team needs you. Be their eyes, open and close doors, activate traps, and lead them to victory.

    Commander is a two map series with 6 gametype variants. The concept is the same throughout each gamemode: one player (the first guy to press a switch at the start) becomes the commander for his team. The commander can then use the switches to interact with the map, and ultimately change the flow of the battle.

    On Commander: Aperture, the commander can:
    - Close 1/3 doors at a time
    - Raise and lower a bridge
    - Ignite a wall of fire
    - Change the team's spawn to left/right
    - Drop a mantis
    - Raise and lower cover around the flag

    Players will find up to 3 power ups on the map in the center: camo, overshield, and damage boost (unless assault or breakout variant). The map is also low-key Portal themed if you couldn't guess by the name.

    This map has been tested and tweaked for a long time now, but I am always looking for feedback and thoughts on new maps for this series. Attempt to get the entire lobby into game chat for the best competitive experience.

    Below are the links to the map and gamemodes. Each gamemode has "Commander:" before the name for those of you who prefer to search through my files. If you are wondering why these gamemodes are even here it is mostly due to the game times. For instance, the 2 breakout variants rely on scripted events to allow players to eliminate the commanders. The description of each gametype is pretty self explanatory, but I do recommend to you other forgers out there to check out Tactical CTF to see a pretty badass Arena Breakout gametype glitch involving a scopeless DMR start.     Worthy of action sack, if action sack was good and more than 4v4 lol. It was new and interesting and required team work and observation. Loved the traps and I feel the aperture theme is better than the decay, feels simulation like and was fun. Maybe add more gametypes for it like strongholds or something.

    I had a blast testing this. Very competitive with creative use of scripting. I will be playing this for awhile in my custom game lobbies. RIP assault fiesta.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone! I hope to make a new Commander map in the future eventually. This map was the first of the series. Commander: Decay focuses more on commander vs commander gameplay, and the next map should focus on player and commander interactions (thanks to Black Racher's feedback for motivation)
