After seeing everyone else's "Castle Wars" map in Halo 5, I always wondered why no one bothered using the REQ swords. As such, here it is: Castle Wars Advanced on the map Canyon Pass.
So there's not much to tell about this: It's a regular CTF game with different swords for different play styles. 1 point to win, 10 mins per game (Change it if you want to).
Now if you're reading this and wondering how many swords there are, the answer is gonna surprise you: 5. Turns out the whole REQ weapon glitch can bestow different effects onto different melee weapons.
Here's a list and what each one does:
1) Ravening Silver - Faster Melee swing time - For any beserker style players that just want to leave bodies in your wake, this one is for you. The increase in melee speed is nothing to joke about, seeing as you can easily parry and attack far quicker than your normal player. It can be found in the hut across from the VT sword, near the Flag Temple.
2) Vorpal Talon - Bonus hangtime AND 2 evades per cooldown - A great sword for any player that loves to dash in and out of combat. Great for catching up to players, it can be found in the hut across from the RS sword, near the Flag Temple.
3) Recon Sword - A sword with a recon sight, increased lunge range - Sounds like total BS right? Nope. This little bugger will let you reach out and touch someone. Great for defending your castle at ranges, or chasing down any poor flag carriers. Found at the top of the castle wall.
4) Oathsword Sword - Increased speed - This is found at mid field, atop 1 of two stone towers. Great for support swordsmen who have to bolt from one spot to the next.
5) SPNKr Prime Sword - Increased Speed, Jump height, and Shield strength - I dub it, the hero's blade. Found atop the highest tower at mid field, it's a challenge to get this, but it's worth it. Pair this with a Damage boost and/or Over shield, and you've got yourself a player to rally behind.
6) Corpsemaker Hammer - Faster melee swing and increased lunge range - This is in there to keep the gameplay different and fun. Nothing quite makes players give pause when they see a hammer on the battlefield. Faster melee swing time and Increased lunge range. This is atop the opposite stone tower from Oathsword. Great as a defensive item, specifically a
The swords aren't the only thing on the map either. In keeping with tradition of Castle wars, each team is give 6 black stallions, capable of carrying 2 warriors across the battlefield to glorious victory. In present day terms? Each team gets 6 Oni Mongooses.
Also, to spice things up, each team's castle is equipped with 3 powerups. 1 Speed boost, which can be found above the main castle entrance. The Over shield and Damage boost can be found in either tower of each base. Just look for the "climbable" wall in the inside of the castle walls and you'll find the powerups in no time at all.
And one last thing to spice things up within the game. I added a sewer system in the basement of each castle, as a way to keep combat fluid and different from the 'Husky raid' style of gameplay Castle Wars has been plagued with before. But be warned, things might get a little 'Steamy' if you use the back 2 vents.
Made for massive lobbies of players, 16 being the best. Hope you enjoy it!
