THE CACTI HAVE BECOME SELF AWARE!
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
Hey, everyone, and welcome to the newest and best plant vs. human minigame in Halo 5. Quills is a gametype that semi existed back in Halo 3 and had a quick go in Reach, but you had to be one dedicated minigame player to ever hear of it. The original game had two platforms separated by a large amount of space. The zombies were given dual-wield Spikers and were tasked with shooting the humans on the other platform. The Spikers shot so randomly and had such a high arc to their bullets that aiming was particularly difficult and luck-based, but the high rate of fire and dual-wield compensated. One hit led to death so the humans would have to predict the trajectory and dodge as needed. Once you died, you were out of the game.
Halo 5 has given us a lot more tools but, unfortunately, no Spikers or dual wield. Luckily, I noticed the Suppressor has an incredible range ( >1000') and when set to bottomless clip and unlimited ammo, it shoots at its start up speed which is quite slow making it the perfect replacement.
Because of the new customs browser, I also couldn't leave people dead watching since that just leads to lobby closings. Instead, the fallen humans are given Suppressors with limited clips and long reload times making teamwork semi-important to keep the humans constantly running or cornered.
And because this is Halo 5, I couldn't just slap two platforms 1000' apart. Instead, I shifted from the old name of Procupine to Cactus and built a giant cactus. The alpha zombie is stationed in the center continuously shooting out deadly quills while the converted are stationed in the top and smaller arms of the cactus.
The humans are surrounded by deadly spikes just trying to avoid the cactus's wrath. Getting hit once is all it takes to get converted.
There are even some nice tumbleweeds to break up the dead area but don't get caught looking.
As always, I hope you all enjoy this minigame. No Easter eggs to look out for on this one though. Just a simple, fun game.

Extra Reading:
Scripting:
Really simple. Scripted zones to change FoV to make it easier for zombies to see the humans and harder to aim.
Bug Reporting:
This map shouldn't have any bugs. Probably the first and last time I'll ever get to say that. The game used to lag horribly but that was a piece count issue which was corrected.
