Map Description

  1. Max Extra
    Breached is a map designed to play all core game types available at the moment. It supports up to 4 teams and 16 people. The maps real focus though is smaller team sizes around 4v4 and 2v2. Between the bases the map is symmetrical with pathways and weapon placement the same on either side of the map.

    Setting:
    The map is staged in a Forerunner containment facility that had a breach some time in its past which some poor UNSC scientist, engineers, and Sangheli body guards unfortunately discovered. The facility and the planet are over run with the Flood and the lighting and the atmosphere of the map reflect this. A green sky and particles of the plague float around the map help to immerse you in to this world. To help play on some nostalgia designs for the rooms in the map have come from popular Flood maps from past campaigns and the map has been made with Halo CE theme in mind.
    • Main room is from Halo: CE
    • Lift room is from Halo 2
    • Layout is inspired by Halo 3 missions.
    Layout:
    Red base (blue base mirror)
    Teams and Team objectives (ie flag) spawn here. The teleporter featured in the back are both in red and blue base that lead to the mid room. Following that hall leads to...

    Lift Room
    this room has a shotgun and a stronghold location. The lift here leads to the incinerator cannon in the main room. along with the doors in the mid wall.

    Mid
    those doors lead out here into mid home of most of the fighting on this map and also...

    Infected Irwin

    Cannon
    can be seen at the top middle of the picture. designed to be accessed by the lift or by skilled jumps as well as using the combat evolved tactic. the lower door leads to...

    Long Hall
    The lowest part on the map collects the most dust and flood effects as can be seen when players use this path to go between bases.

    Outside
    Alternatively you could use out side to go between bases and pick up an over shield or light rifle as well as taking one of the team strong holds.

  1. I really enjoyed this map! It has this feel to it that makes me think it's a remake from some Halo 2 or 3 map that I just never had the chance to play. It feels like a classic. I also really love how effective the splinter grenades are at closing off hallways on this map due to the small doorways.

    Lastly, I really enjoyed how effective the sword was on this map, it's not a common thing for sword gameplay to be that fun. But it is! I highly recommend downloading.
  2. This map has excellent spawning and the map layout is great. There are plenty of flank routes along with the more heavily traveled routes. The man cannon to the Incineration Cannon is something that takes a while to learn about, but once you do it changes how you get around the map by quite a bit.

    Weapons on the map feel great and there are nice variety to choose from that is spread out so everyone has chance to get one.

    Every gametype felt great on the map and was a blast to play. The theme and aesthetics also brought the map to life. I would honestly love to see this map in 4v4 Arena.

    Played this map a few times and always a blast. That death pit gets me most of the time. Once I found the lift to the incineration cannon it became my new fav spot.

    Played this on 2v2 and 8v8 assault and both played awesome

    I watched you forge it, play tested it, and can honestly say you made an amazing map. My favorite game type we played had to be ctf as it was the most intense. Never felt too cluttered and it was fun looking for different ways to get around the map. When we played it I think it was a 2v3, hopefully next time we can play it in a proper setting. Watching you forge this has taught me a lot, thanks max.

    This map has come a long way in the last couple of weeks. Spawning and weapon placement is spot-on. Sight lines are great all around. The added light bridges are a welcome addition so that noobs (me) aren't constantly falling and dying. Combat feels fluid no matter where you are, never feeling one-sided. A really solid map worth playing.

    Breached Open is great. I liked it before the "opening" but honestly it plays even better now.

    My big critique is for strongholds. As I mentioned in the lobby I think the placement of strongholds on either side of OS might lead to some really hectic gameplay with the try hards. I think it's worth seeing how that goes before you move them- my sense is that it will either be insane in a good way or insane in a bad way, have to see it tested. I quite liked it, but i'm a scrub.

    Overall- really fun map. Impressive.
