Bones

Slayer

Map Description

  1. Spranklz
A slayer and strongholds cave-themed map where players can activate secret traps, blast away new pathways, and find secret levers to reveal powerful weapons!

I've posted some videos of a few games of 4v4 I played.

If the videos above are not working, links here:

You may also find a play test by Max Extra's lobby here https://www.twitch.tv/max_extra/v/69019828 at about 7:17:30

This is a somewhat early version that I hope to develop in the future!

I was able to get some games in and make some small improvements to the map. I uploaded two 5-minute videos of the gameplay above!

hmm, might i suggest some color variation on the map for player orientation? i like the concept and there seems to be some neat geometry, but all of it blends into the same tan color. even the lights are all the same color. i feel like it'd take me so long to memorize the layout and even longer to figure out how to callout on it.

making one side have more wood planks than another, making another side darker, and then changing the lights on another side would all be simple changes that improve orientation on the map. i haven't played it or run around it so perhaps it's not a prevalent issue. nevertheless, its' the first thing i notice from the media you posted above.

Subtle color changes seem like a pretty easy way to help with orientation!

I thought having very distinguishable features, such as a bridge, a giant pit of blue fire, or a wall with two red squares on it would help players orient easily, but other people have also said they had difficulty orienting.

I haven't named the strongholds, but maybe players could use those names for callouts, even in slayer.

I suppose I could also change the colors of the rocks on one side by turning off lightbaking, but that might not be as pretty.
