Overview
Block City is a symmetrical arena heavily inspired by the Mario-Kart map titled "Block Fort." 4 Teams of up to 12 people each will be competing to hold 3 strongholds, 2 of which are moving around the field. Each team will be broken up into squads of 2 people with random weapons who share a mongoose, similar to drag race.
Map
There are 4 separate buildings each with a smaller platform on top, and a total of 4 ramps per floor. There are also bridges between the buildings to allow for easy access from one tower to another. The map has 3 strongholds, one at the bottom, in the dead center of the map, and one on each level. Players spawn above the battlefield in a closed box with their teammates, 6 mongeese, and 3 teleporters that will spit you out onto the floor below. Players will also respawn here, giving them a chance to group up with a teammate.
Obligatory Gimmick
While one stronghold remains stationary in the center of the map, the other two travel from tower to tower, stopping for about 15 seconds at each one. Sometimes you will be able to use the elevated catwalks to traverse the towers and keep up with the strongholds, but just as often you may find yourself having to climb down one tower just to scale another.
Warning
This map is meant to be played with mongeese, not on foot, and as such there is a teleporter that will take any Spartans caught outside of a vehicle below spawn and put them into an invisible death ball hanging over the map, so unless you want to show the rest of the world what a pretty falling corpse you’d make, try to stay on the mongoose. Unfortunately, this means that if you flip over, you will also die. Sorry about that. Enjoy the small respawn time though!
Wrap Up
Anyway, that’s the gist of it. Feel free to message me if you have any questions/comments/concerns. Once I get a few rounds of playtesting in, I might be back with version 2.0, but until then, enjoy the map!
