Map Description

  1. CT X8
    Beach Volleyball

    As the name suggest beach volleyball is a 4v4 volleyball game on the sandy beach.
    The map uses a grifball variant under my files labelled beach volleyball. I have taken my time to comedy proof the map whilst tweaking the game mode and map so that gameplay is fluid.

    Covering the pitch is important, by spacing yourselves out intercepting the ball can be easier. To score points you must throw the ball and hit the opposing teams floor, the front goal however is smaller and designed for spikes, making it harder to score. The back section is larger but loses some drop off speed.

    10 points to win and 3 rounds!
    The map is finished, any criticism or advice is welcome, plus if anyone knows how I can limit a player as to how long they can hold the ball that would be sweet.

    It should be! A few things I wanted to do but dunno how. Thinking of making a hot potato mini game though.

    Not entirely the same, though u have those black blocks on the side etc..
    Technically just made it same way as it's how volleyball courts are set up!

    Yeah haha, I used those so it fitted the umpire stand on the other side, although the right side boards weren't needed to be honest as that stage is just the park theme, my nationals arena which is coming next will have a different net and layout. Just be careful because I saw in my net some of the pipes making the net weren't aligned. towards the right end -.- Fiddly job to fix when you have to move all the barriers and scripting. Thanks for the review by the way, I'm so annoyed that glitch came back I spent ages fixing it. Just a heads up all those glitches were in the notes, same as a lot of things like the ball not being picked up when you press rb etc. :)

    Yeah, I managed to get around the whole ball issue by tweaking and playing around with the gametype and then testing it rigorously. So far most issues I had or did have I resolved before posting the map, it's thanks to unknown emerald though that it runs smooth, we literally ran tests like crazy making sure everything was smooth

    Yeah I started mine back in March and it's come a long way, but I never had anyway to test it with, which is why the game type is on version 20 but still a work in progress, because I have no one to test it with. The one time I did get tests we just said the main reason why sometimes you wouldn't pick the ball when you should was just because of the 1 second delay in picking up the ball. Little things like how you can't go through a teleporter at 0.5 radius, only 1 or up so it doesn't fit the net exactly, a wall block that lets objects pass though but not players would be great, there is one like it, but the ball doesn't go through it, and a kill boundary resets the ball so it's like eugh. It is very difficult to manage. The current court is 128 by 128 which is very wide but the park variant is just for fun, and with the new target mode it helps just for training. I plan on making the nationals court only 60x60 which should help interceptions as right now, smashing the ball mid air to misdirect it is like the only way to stop spike momentum

    Yeah I get it! I'm making a few more adjustments, ie, scoring and time, dropping the ball gives the opposing team a point and putting a limiter on how long the ball can be held!

    There's an option on how long you can hold it now? And how are you planning on doing the team loses a point thing? I imagine it will be a pain to implement. That being said you don't use the whole court as a goal like me so there may be a way for you

    Hmm, yeah ever since the new update I haven't touched scripts, it's like going from 10 buttons to a million
