You may want to call this a re-imagining rather than a remake. People on FH are pretty hardcore about their remakes.

 

This seems like it might be a little too upscaled, but otherwise it looks fine.
I like how you switched up some weapon spawns (shotgun where sword was, ov where shotgun was..)

i agree with it being too upscaled. I'll check it out when i get the chance. I'm working on a 1:1 scale of lockout that's almost complete if You'd like to see it. Always like meeting fellow Lockout enthusiasts.

 

i understand the idea of upscaling to make up for sprint but the concept that counters that concept is the fact that your shields don't regenerate while sprinting and the moment you get shot, it also hinders your movement. There is such a thing as too much of an upscale. Think about it this way. With Halo 5's penalties for sprint, and the time it takes to get across middle, no one will push middle. Keep in mind, I'm only going by your video, i haven't had the chance to check it out. Hopefully my suggestions help you out.

 

@FTG Insanity It's good to have a difference of opinion but it's not polite to argue your point on someone's map page when you are preaching the virtues of your own version of the same map. Best to take it to private message if you would like to offer this kind of input.

 

the entire point of posting a map on forge hub is to share a map and to recieve criticism in bettering a map if necessary. I'm not being rude and I'm not arguing that a map shouldn't be upscaled to adjust to halo 5's mechanics. I'm simply stating a valid reason to why upscaling a map too much can be harmful to gameplay and giving an example of a reasonable way of approaching upscaling. I apologize if I came off as rude. All i want do is to give solid advice to improve his concept.

First I want to say I understand your point which wasn't my issue. My point was about mentioning your remake of the same map under DKVikings post.

I feel if you are building a remake it would be more acceptable to mention how you would like to steal a few ideas for your own version, then to mention how you believe your format may be a better way to go. Now, had you referenced another remake of a different map to make your point, it would have been a little different. It's a fine line but some people can be very sensitive of it.

DKViking seems to be reasonable ok with you mentioning your similar remake, but what if they had looked at your map and felt defeated. What if they removed their map as a response to that. Often people will question their work even if their remake/re-imagining was as good or better than your own.

Once upon a time FH was far too strict about punishing people for mentioning their maps in other peoples threads. They called it advertising. Now we have to search to find that balance ourselves. I would say remake comparison is one of those scale tippers.

Honestly I don't feel you were out to be a ****, I just wanted you to be aware of how rude people can find something like that, and cull the comparisons of your own version of this remake from within DKVikings thread.
