Set in my series of maps inspired by Forerunner architecture, Ares is a symmetrical core map that supports 2-8 players. Players will be challenged to master ascending and descending the two tiers of structure. The facility is divided into two halves and is only connected in four places. The shield windows on the map can be toggled on and off, opening new sight lines and running paths.
Lore: When challenged with finding a way to eradicate the Flood, the Forerunners had many ideas but little options. Part of that grand scheme of ideas involved powerful weapons designed to burn away the infection on continental scales. It goes without saying that these weapons required massive amounts of energy. Stations like these acted as gigantic fuel cells, storing energy until it was required for use. The station still hums with the echoes of it's past.
