"I guess Indians are Hindus, and I know that's not the right path."
It was then that I saw the entire video, 1 minute into it. Therefore, I stopped. If there is one thing I learned, its that religion evokes a "moral responsibility" in people that surpasses common knowledge and logic. I can say that this is real, and if (by some chance) it's not, I can at least say that it doesn't matter. It shows the pathetic state many "humans" subject themselves to in the name of God. Take this very girl for example: She considers this Indian girl a friend, and out of an act of "generosity and compassion" she alienates this girl. To her, the Indian is being ignorant, condemning herself (the Indian) to hell, which she as a Christian cannot morally accept. To the Indian, her "friend" is forcing beliefs that are not her own upon her, and destroying what friendship they could have had.

I have been down this road before, many times. My good friend and myself are in all regards atheists, and one of our best friends is extremely Christian. He created a bible study group in our High School, and leads weekly sessions. Despite this, things worked out smoothly for us and our conflicting beliefs did not often enter discussion. However, over-time, this changed. Our friend progressively started bringing up religious themes, to which my good friend and myself showed little reaction too. When provoked to have real discussions regarding the topic, we would simply state our view-point, and abandon the conversation. He then invited us to his bible study sessions, to which we respectfully declined. By this time, his clear attempt at "awakening us" was starting to annoy, but we set aside our issues and tried to continue this friendship. It wasn't until our friend began interrupting perfectly fine discussions to preach God's word to us, that we let it come between us. He said that we were wrong, and he was right, and until we realized that truth that we were condemned to an eternity in hell, a fate he could not accept as our friend. Interaction with our Bible-abiding friend ended momentarily, as his religious antics were becoming to much to bear. It wasn't until most recently that we have re-opened communication, and attempt to explain that his religious talk offended us and was tainting our friendship. We know he still feels the same way as he did previous, but he has with-held such talk for the sake of our companionship.

And stories like these are happening all the time, all around the world. The Crusades, Missions, and many other moments in our history of which I am too lazy to look up, are enlarged examples. In the Crusades, "Christian" soldiers murdered thousands of innocents in the name of God. During the settlement of the New World (present day North America), Spanish missionaries attempted to convert Indian natives. Please, do not get the illusion that I am ragging solely on Christianity, I am merely making an example of it for it is the religious belief I know most about. In addition, the qualms I have with religion reside in the effects it has on human life, clouding judgement and installing beliefs that "justify" wrong-doings (slavery, for example). It's when certain religious beliefs extend into/and affect politics, education, and other human lives, that I believe faith has overstepped its bounds. I believe in the power of humanity, not the power of a God, and it breaks my heart when I see people leave their lives in the hands of a belief, rather than taking charge for their own lives. And it hurts me even greater when I see relationships and human interaction take a blow because of the commanding power of "faith".

Please, do not turn this into a religious debate however. I know I went on for a little long there, but it was in order to express the point; that I feel it immoral and inhuman to disrupt human relationships for the sake of a relationship with God. Do not be fooled, for people (such as the Christian girl in this video) exist, and not every extremist thought is a joke.

Oh, thanks for bringing up the Westboro Baptist Church, haha. Such a strange case study. I did some reading about Fred Phelps a few years ago, and just now I've found some new crazy ass site he has up now-adays. Check it out. These folks are going out of their way to make a site for each country in the world and why god hates them. God hates Bangladesh? WTF?? God hates Finland??? WHY???

As for the topic of this thread... yeah I'm pretty sure that video is fake just from the first few minutes of their conversation. Conspicuous ignorance? Too weird. But yeah, the paradox of how evangelicals can exist with people who don't and won't believe as they do makes for some painful situations. I've been aggressively solicited for religious allegiance before, and I don't like it one bit. But I do have an understanding of where they're coming from. What gets me is when they get frustrated to the point of "I don't think we can be friends until you see the light"... there's nothing in their source material for that.

Whether this is real or not, I had the biggest urge to punch that girl in the glasses. Some people are that ignorant though.. and it sickens me. The stupid woman on fox news... what can you say? Its a brain washing cult, and a lot of small regilious groups in America are.

Btw, I'm not hating on Americans. All the americans I have met have been perfectly sane.

"I'm going to go eat my rice"

    ...

    "Is that all you eat?"

    "Yeah..."

And the whole beginning part, plus the way she just left.
    Pretty fake.

Stupid is a strong word that I don't use much, but damn, she's stupid and stubborn. No feelings or expansive morals whatsoever.

She probably just ruined her "friend's" month and she thought she did something good.

I think its real. If they staged it and were actually close friends, they wouldn't of done it in the first place because she starts saying some really racist things. Staged or not, it still had great potential to hurt the girl's feelings.
