    sooo many new possibilities!

I've tried it and it's hard, but it will help a lot with the new maps I'm working on

    =D

I forgot to have a look at the date on the last post but I need some tips on how to do this. I've read through many time followed each word but the bottom DB keep fusing with the 'pusher'. Theyre both open boxes, do they have to be closed. If someone can make a vid that would help alot, learning visually is easier for me.

I certainly hope Flem Productions (they make the Forging 101 tutorial vids) has this topic in the making. That would help a lot of people here.

Yeah, I found fusing double opens impossible. You could try to door trick though, I've never tried that.

But it seems like fusing objects is alot harder after AU? I think it's my imagination, but I didn't it so easily before, and not I can't get the to become an even surface, like when trying to make a floor thats 2 and a side door sunk in the ground.

Its definitely not impossible. Its a rather simple process, but may take several times before it works correctly. Place the double open box where you want it. brace it tightly. That means put either fence walls, boxes, bridges around it very tightly, you will probably need to interlock your braces so they fit as snug as can be all along each side of the open box. Then grab a few doors and place them on top of the open box, with their top down, sinking into the box. Make sure you have equal pressure on the box with the doors. In other words dont put 2 doors on the right side and none on the left. space them out as evenly as possible. Then once you have the doors in place, SAVE THE MAP. you'll see why shortly after. Then grab and let go of the box somewhat quickly and it should sink into the ground. It MAY fall through the ground, in which case just quit and then load up the map again. It may fall through several times i have found so be patient! It will work eventually, most likely. Note: the further you are trying to sink a box of any kind into the ground, the more likely it is to fall through the ground.

Merging objects with map geometry is an inexact science. It takes a lot of trial and error, and I would suggest using it only as a last resort.

At least that's my experience with it. And trust me, I have A LOT of patience when it comes to stuff like this.

I found 2 doors failed me, but I may try it again. I find that now that I know things such as merging with map geo, I find it harder and harder to not use these in my maps.

Read the title. Is a wall an "immovable object?" I think so. Therefore, with my amazing powers of deduction, YES, this works with walls too.

    Interlocking

Is there an easier way to merge the objects with the walls of Foundry? My objects keep going out of position even though all of the sides are secured. Has anyone perfected it? If so can you send me an FR to Just as Mad and please show me how. Thanks.

I'm having the same problems as Just as Mad. I'm trying to place a double box at an angle that emerges out of the ground. I've placed boxs all around to secure the soon to be angled box, but when the double box spawns to push the lower one into the ground the lower one just pops out of the side. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

In the mean time, I'll keep trying.

Yes, keep trying. It is an inexact science and should only be done if absolutely necessary. I avoid using this technique, and I consider myself as having a lot of patience.

We are still looking for a fool-proof way of doing this, so please keep at it. The fruits of your labor just may pay off by finding the best method for doing this!

Yes, please someone find an easier way to do this... I've had problems myself and I don't fully understand how this works. Amazing find though.

My primary use for this technique on foundry has to do with the walls. I absolutely hate that little "lip" that juts our from the side of the wall because players can jump on it. It has broken many a map.

Also, those lame "doors" at the back of the warehouse are annoyingly uneven.

I use GeoInterlocking for places such as this, rendering the lip and the doors useless by players trying to break the map.

(still waiting for another Foundry style map; the deck of an aircraft carrier would be sweet)

So THAT'S the part I was missing.
Didn't know you had to save and quite like when making shield doors/teleporters and stuff float.
