Okay, yesterday means the 11th of August. Most of you will have received this update yesterday. It wasn't that big, but it introduced some new stuff. Here's the list: - The ability to download full games from the marketplace with MS points - The ability to access the marketplace at marketplace.xbox.com (or something like that) - A help section under the Welcome title on the main dashboard - A number that appears next to your GT on your profile that signifies how many years you've been on XBL - The 'joined party' noise now plays through your headset, not your TV - You can now eject the disk tray by hovering over "play [game]", and pressing X - New clothes that you can buy for your avatar, inclusing game clothes and clothes from real brands - The dashboard no longer freezes - If you get randomly disconnected from your party, you'll be reconnected automatically - You'll no longer get the random "[everyone except you] has left the Xbox Live party" message - Your friends list's order can be rearranged to be alphabetized regardless of status, or be alphabetized by game being played - The achievements are now laid out differently (citation needed) - A bunch of stuff has changed for those who use Netflix, but it isn't available in the UK so I don't really care - Your avatar can win awards by playing arcade games, or something - If you're recording a voice message and no voice is coming through, the system will notify you (very useful) - If you hover over a game and press Y, you can rate a game. RATE HALO 3 FIVE STARS!!!1 That's the list so far. Have I missed anything?
It also fixed the problems involving the Xbox Guide temporarily freezing. (My favorite part of the update)
The ability to eject the disc from the dashboard is such an incredibly pointless feature, you still have to physically go over to the tray to change the disc! In fact it's quicker an easier to not use the feature because otherwise you have to navigate to it on the dashboard, which takes extra time and effort, instead of just pressing the button on the tray (which, remember, you have to go to anyway). Pointless features are pointless!
Woah! Now I can buy Mass Effect for only $100AU. WHAT A BARGAIN!!! Mass Effect US: $19.99 - 1600MSP AU: $99.95 - 6000MSP Mass Effect Games On Demand: $99.95 EB Games: $79.95 GAME: $69.95 or $29.00 online only Games Warehouse: $44.95 JB Hi-Fi: $89.98
You can also rearange the order of people in your friends list by going into your friends list and pressing Y. Also when you look at your achievments they are now laid out differently.
Not so. Several times I have had games or DVDs that are not read properly by my xbox, so I have to open and close the tray again. Now, I don't hafta get up to do that. Lazyness ftw.
You can now watch movies on Netflix with your friends! You and 3 other friends can sit in a movie theater and use emotes during your movies. The Netflix program has totally changed. Instead of just being able to access your instant queue, you can now browse movies and t.v. shows to add to your instant queue. Also don't forget the Avatar awards.
to bad im on vacation. when i get home, ill have epic win with the freezing glitches, and netflix being friend fiendly (wow that seemed wierd typing) its gonna be one hellava lazy turd when i get home.
It will also notify you if you are trying to record a voice message and no voice is coming through your mic.
You can use either. You can use a Credit card to directly buy the game, or use MS points. Everything else on the MP still must use MS points.
