From what I understand, Most full versions of games will take up almost 6 gigs of space on your hard drive. So if you have a 20 GB HD then you can download 5 games or so.. I suppose the size of the game is what will matter the most, Unless you have a 120 GB HD then you can go crazy.

But I also got the update early as a preview, and the Netflix update is pretty sweet, Don't know why it took them this long to do that, But everything else is alright. Avatar marketplace.. Never going to buy anything so it's pointless to me, The party re-connect is pretty sweet, that will relieve headaches some what..

The Games On Demand is a good idea, But it's basically only platinum hits, so you've either played it already, or if you haven't you gotta realize that if you just download it and don't like it.. You can't return it or bring it down to a store like gamestop or EB and trade it in for some sort of credit.

First of all Microsoft has already confirmed that it will not take up loads of memory on your HDD. The game is linked to your Gamertag, not your HDD.

Also, the GoD service is nice even if it is just old hits, but the big deal here is that this is the gateway into having all videogames digitally distributed and stepping away from the disc. PC users have gone a long way with Steam, and soon console owners will have a service almost identical to that.

Downloading a game off the internet most certainly links to your HDD, Unless you plan to stream your game every time you play it. I understand what you are saying when you say it's linked to your gamertag, That's so you can delete it off your HDD and re-download it to your HDD whenever you feel like it without having to pay for it again.

Well, I have heard that GameFly has terrible customer support and slow shipping while Netflix is well known for great support and shipping in 1-2 days.

You can download it as many times as you like after only buying it once. I don't know exactly how it will work, but Microsoft has assured people more than once that it will not take the 6 gigs as expected.

Well, that really depends on where you live. GF doesn't have as many shipping sites as Netflix does. I usually get my games within 2-3 days because I live in Texas and they ship from Austin.

Aaaactually, the 20gig is a lie, it actually only holds 14 gigs of memory. I hate that so much.

Well it does hold 20 gigs, but the OS and other stuff that comes on the Xbox that you can't remove takes up space.

Yeah, that's exactly what I heard. East coast coverage is terrible.

Yeah I would expect. They have one in TX, one in CA, one in the middle of the US and then another in some random state.

The Games on Demand feature is quite a good feature, and it might actually make me get off my ass to get a bigger Hard Drive.

Not sure where you read this, but all I know is that when you install a game now from the disc to your console, It's an average of 6 gigs. I don't know how they could shrink the size of a game without removing some sort of content.

The Beta of Fall's update or the preview of Aug 11 update?

I happened to have signed up for the preview and i received the system update today around 4:30.

Most of the features are subtle differences. The reviews are good, and it's nice to see what the community thinks of content/games. The Avatar Marketplace is pretty cool too. As of now there are mainly Halo 3/ODST, Fable 2 and Monkey Island clothing/accessories as well as select designers, but I expect it to expand. The Avy MP is also not necessarily ideal for those who don't have money to throw around, most of the purchases range from 2-4 bucks.

There are articles around noting that Game install sizes have gone down, one game went from 6GB to like 600MB, but no one really understands why.
I have the update, and all the subtle little features are great.
I'm also loving my Avatar right now.

Games on Demand looks fantastic, though in the picture of it, Mass Effect's cost was listed in dollars, not Microsoft Points. WTF is the point of Microsoft Points if you don't use them consistently?!

The reconnect-to-party feature is a great update as well, though. I really hope they make the Xbox Guide open and close faster. For me, it takes ages for the Guide to load after I hit the Guide Button.

I totally agree. it takes like 10 seconds to start the Guide and then takes a second or two to switch from tab to tab or load another page, such as party.

I think they're using dollars instead of MSP in order to make it easier to pay to the actual developers/publishers of the game.

And I don't know what you're talking about. My guide loads up just fine.
