I have previously written this post in another thread about MLG. But after reading I decided to make my own thread based off of my post to see what others think on the subject of whether MLG is ruined or not, and why alot of players dont like it so much? Previous Post: The idea of MLG itself is great. The specific modifications to the game types are great, like the player speed being kicked up a little and the position of the weapons and even the weapons (though few) are great. But I think its the "I am MLG" attitude that is killing it for me. I was such a huge fan, and still am of MLG "itself" and the "idea" of MLG, but not the players. The pros, yes, the MLG wannabees online...not so much is an understatement! To be honest, this crappy "Im the ish" attitude had steered me right away form Ranked all together pretty much, with the exception of Squad. The way I use to deal with it, was to just say "1v1 scrub". While very fun, not very mature...As Ive learned form my own experiance and other fellow Generals on B.net. To be honest its the players that have ruined MLG, the ones who dont play and especially the ones who do...
Never had any issues like that myself. Matter of fact, almost all the players I meet on the MLG playlist are usually pretty nice people.

It makes you think it's cool to have alternating caps and non caps in your gamertag, and double letters eg. ii rKwLnOw Pl0xX From a sterotypical point of view, I think a lot of the MLG players are very talented, I spend some time on montages and stuff, but you can be good without any of that. I play halo as a party game, a fun, social game, where me and my friends use teamwork and tactics, play minigames and race, play fun competitive infection maps and the like. other use it to demonstrate art & design, or logic skills in switches and rube goldbergs. Yet most of these people still have a social life, or live a healthy, happy lifestyle. But from what I've seen and heard, I haven't heard of a lvl 50 MLG player who isn't arrogant, racist, sexist, angry, tired, and none of them have seemed particularly happy doing what they do on MM & customs of MLG. I think it's crucial that you play games for fun, not to show off stats, look good, or whatever. But that's all my opinion.
Admittedly, only six on MLG. I do like the harsh competition, but it doesn't help that I've not played a match without trash talk racist bitching from other players yet. I'll give it another go, I'll reach 12 in MLG & give my final opinion, but it's the community. If I don't get to level 9 without TT from everyone with alternating caps and 'ii's and spaces in their names, I'll reinforce my opinion.

How many 50s in MLG have you met? I have a 50 in MLG and I am none of those, besides maybe a little tired right now. I play what makes me happy. I play MLG on my 50 and meet nice people and mean people, like any other playlist. I play a lot of racetracks and puzzle maps off this site. I enjoy infection and I like Social. My friends that I play with a lot are all MLG 50s and they are great people to talk to and play with.

I play MLG a lot and there are NOT THAT MANY arrogant, racist, and angry people. I think there are just as much in Team Slayer and Doubles. HEY what part of MA are you from? Im right outside boston.
I'm an 11. Not very high but I'm still surprised that the MLG playlist is (so far) as friendly as it is. And I bet just because I say that, as soon as I rank up again I'll start running into all the assholes...
Just be friendly and show them that you want to win and they for the most part wont be mean to you. also what part of MA are you from?

I don't think I have ever received any messages about people talking **** to me in MLG. It's more common in Doubles.
MLG is terrible for the exact reasons mentioned, the people who play it are usually overcompetitive asshole though I have met a few nice people there weren't many theres actually quite a few nice people on the actuall site but if youre a low level you'll never meet them in a match.
I suppose those who I've met could have been luck of the trade, but I doubt in your MLG MM experience, you've not ran into trashtalkers?
And I also doubt that in your just plain MatchMaking experience, you've not run into trashtalkers. Whether it be Doubles, TS, Snipers, Squad & yes Social as well. They are everywhere. You shouldn't single out one playlist. Is there a poll on how many more trashtalkers there are in MLG than any other playlist? NO! So you can't sit here and keep posting about a bunch of bullshit that You think is correct just because someone hurt your feelings in MLG.
I run in to trash talkers in MLG no more than any other Ranked playlist, besides squad battle. No one really trash talks in squad battle.
Hahaha thats true dude there really is no trashtalking in Squad! lolz ohh an for the guy who is gettin all flustered about the trash talkers in MLG, first off whats your rank cuz in low ranks you dont hear it, once to get to about 40 is when u get it. But also dude its not the exact playlist that is wiked bad, your right they trash tlak in every playlist, but the community of MLG itself is very very egotistical. If youve ever watched some of the Championship Sunday vids or ESPN Saturday night youd know what I mean. Besides that I attended MLG Orlando last summer and if you saw the trash talking that was going on and how every player thought they were the next T2...it was actually quite amusing. No offense but i doubt youve ever even been to an event..am I wrong? Or that rank is above a 25? again...am I wrong? Im not just talking about something I dont know of, like I said Im one of the biggest fans of MLG...itslef not the players.
