T_T The group does exist. The people who are in the guild are 100% devoted to making this group become the best it can be.
You act like you've lived with them all your life. 100% devoted. That's what everyone feels like when they start a shop. But overtime, they all quit. Ice, Lock, etc. Even the teachers who've joined the my school quit overtime. They aren't taking in students, they haven't taken the time to teach them, and it's all left to just three people in the end. Now I'm not here on the fact that it exists, I'm here on whether it should exist. You guys should aim to make it a rule rather than a group.
a rule like that would be nigh impossible to enforce.. because like you said, people get tired of it over time. yes some of us probably will eventually get tired of it and not want to do it.. the point of it is i guess to show that there are people trying to do it. creating a group may not be necessary but it is what we did to have some organization to it. its how we are trying to give back i guess you could say.
Over time, the top members of the group will stick out from the others and others might end up quitting. Never know, I do agree with you on the frag. What I am saying is, we have been working since yesterday getting just the group up and running. The thread should be up later today, hopeufully.
Yes, people may not want to do it over time, but it is to set a foundation and standard for everyone to give good criticism and artistic help. I for one, will not be quitting the group as I've been involved for many years of art classes where critiquing and giving artistic help and advice to your peers are a key element and I have just gotten too use to doing it all the time that I won't stop.
The rule seems to work well with the map section. I'm glad you're working hard, but what if you've got the right idea, but the wrong solution? But I haven't seen you give much critique. When you do, you do, but this is another problem. You may critique well, but giving it often doesn't seem to run well.
wait.. the map section..? i havent been there in a while, but... you don't HAVE to post on a thread when you visit it. thats what i thought you were getting at.. sorry
You don't HAVE to post when you visit a thread. What I mean is, make it a rule that you have to follow guidlines when making a CnC. Not you HAVE to post when you view. That's just dumb. Period. What happens when you run into a signature that you don't know what to say about? There are times when Ice just says; start over when there's a signature in the CnC thread. I mean the map section rules say that you MUST give a proper rating to the map, otherwise it's spam. How about that? Make THAT a rule for the G&A is what I mean.
The problem in the maps section is different from the problem in GA. The problem in maps is that people post spam as a review. The problem in GA is that no reviews/CnCs are being posted at all in some threads. A good rule would be: If you are skilled enough to understand the techniques used in the art within the thread, it is recommended that you post a well thought out CnC of the art.
well put shataki, and i also agree with frag on that we should give quality reviews.. its just that like shataki said there are some differences.. someone could simply use one sentence to point out something basic and easy to fix in the sig (its possible with maps, but not as frequent), so yeah it would be RECOMMENDED that you do that..
Since you guys are making a group and trying to be professional like, similar to Frag's "rules" idea is that people who give CnC should try and leave out the "I don't like it", "It sucks", etc. comments. Sure that is a comment, but it really doesn't help anyone..at all. There are a lot of new people who want to make their own sigs or are just starting to do art and just aren't very good at it, because they're new. I do see a lot of people in G&A who give great CnC to these new people, but there are others who just shut down the new people, or don't post anything to help out the beginner. I realize I don't have much say in this, since I don't really do much in G&A, but consider what I say because to make this group actually work you guys need to listen to the people getting CnC. Oh and I see a lot of great graphics by the regulars in the G&A who ask for CnC, but a lot of the time it's just compliments by their peers on Forgehub. Think about it.
