Wasn't this was revealed ages ago? Anywho, there are a few songs in there I'd like to play, and some I'd like to sing though overall it's far from stellar. I'll probably end it getting regardless.
I'm not really a fan of the avatars being the characters... Kinda lame, just like the Wii... The set list has some good songs and some songs I wouldn't consider playing, however I'll end up buying it for the sake of playing drums, I've just got to get those drums.
Yeah. I almost forgot about that. That's disappointing. I've really enjoyed creating characters in GH: Metallica.
...... ...... Rock Band anyone? In all seriousness, GH needs to sort out its priorities with regard to its target market. With Band Hero and DJ Hero, the mainstream/indie/popular music cultures are covered, so why do they need to slip it into the main GH games. Seriously, I initially bought GH3 simply for Disturbed and Slipknot, so I felt that world tour, and in fact every GH spinoff made afterwards, were a letdown to the obvious tagret market of "Legends of Rock". So, I'm sticking to good old Rock Band 2, which manages to keep every audience happy with a diverse setlist and an amazing DLC catalogue spanning from Spongebob to Devildriver.
Pretty good set list, however some songs are not suited to a guitar based game. Supersition by Stevie Wonder is an absolute tune but guitar hero material? I'm not so sure.
Pretty crap setlist IMO. It's too bad, I've been playing/following the GH series since GH2 came out for the 360, and it really bothers me when I see it's become another Activision cash-cow like the Tony Hawk games. At least I still have Rock Band, though. I will still rent this game, maybe buy it and return it a couple months later.
And when you did start coughing up money, the disc alone would cost probably $100. Do you know how much time, effort, and money it takes to put a master recording of a song into a game? Well the setlist was compiled over time. Every week or so a few songs would be revealed and added to a master list. And finally we found proof of 83 different songs, so we are sure this is what the setlist is. The Avatars are optional playable characters. They still have the Create-A-Star feature. It's a band based game now. They have to appeal to all instruments.
