It's pretty much useless for people who hae a 20G hardrive but I guess this does give me a reason to go out and buy a 120.
not that excited about this mainly because i dont think canada gets netflix and does anyone know if the movie party will work with dvds
I doubt the movie parties will work with DVDs. Also, I found out that they've worked around the games taking up tons of memory. Something about it being linked to your Gamertag, not your HDD.
This is pretty much the only positive, and/or important thing I can see in this update. I'm sure people will enjoy all the new updates though. I'm just saying personally I wont have much of a use for most of them.
I just got the update preview thingy majig So far I cant really tell the difference other than the new avatar stuff, i cancelled my netflix along time ago due to the poor choice of movie selection that they had for xbox before, so i havent gotten a chance to try that. I really am curios about the buy games on demand thing, I bet Gamestop is gonna go out of bussiness if that does well Kinda hope they add that facebook/Twitter thing too, i wanna see how that plays out and such.
Lucky >.< Do you have to pay for the new stuff on the avatar market place? I'm sure EB games/Gamestop will still do fine though, this is only for certain games is it not? You can't get limited edition stuff on this either. The only thing going out of business soon are probably stores like Blockbusters and Rogers. What with Netflix and movies on demand they won't be able to compete. Just a matter of time...
Some things you can buy, like some halo 3/ Fable 2/ monkey Island shirts and costumes, mostly for about a dollar, depending on how fancy it is, like this shirt i bought here (I had a few points to spare) There's also a section for items you have won by playing a game, but so far i havent seen or heard of any games that unlock these features. Also, the sign you back in thing when you get dropped off a party is very very very nifty, I was playing Gears with TSB and his buddy today, and we both kept getting dropped from chat, but it would automatically add me to the party again, while TSB had to manually pause the game and invite his buddy back in the party, so i can already see how thats usefull. Knowing Xbox, they will only add their super awesome games for On Demand, people wont trade in their copies to gamestop cause they obviously cant trade in digital data, gamestop makes most of their cash from buying used games for very cheap, and selling it for almost original price, I still think it better to just buy the disk, so you can take it with you and if you get bored, you can trade it in for money, but at least this way i can get my game exclusively and not wait at a midnight launch, if they were to add a popular game like ODST or something, who knows how this will all play out though.
Not bad, I'd like to see some spartan armor though :3 I keep lagging out of my parties because of my terrible connection, so I'm pretty excited for auto reconnect already if it's as good as you say it is.
I think I read somewhere that it's just going to be a direct cash payment, like you just enter the credit card and pay $59.99 instead of getting having to get MS points first.
I read here that you could buy them with MS. And direct debit sounds good to me. But from all the pics I've seen, it's only the more older games. Not too sure though, I'm just getting that info from the pics I've seen so far.
See sonic the hedgehog there? You can buy it for 10 bucks at EB games. I bet you the price here will be kept at somewhere around 15 here. I saw a picture of a game priced on GoD a while ago, I'm gonna try to find it again. Here we go.
BlockBuster is practically already going out of business. Stores are closing throughout the country and they aren't making nearly enough money. It's only a matter of time.
I've already gotten this update, and it's not worth the hype. I mean, the Awards are cool, and some of the small things that should have been included in the first place are nice, but having a preview program for this was ridiculous. I was expecting to be able to download a full game to my hard drive when they announced later that the feature wouldn't be available until the public release.
What about uh... is it Game Tap or Game Fly? I forget. I'm sure it's gonna be hard for Netflix to compete with that. Also, I know blockbusters is out of business, technically, but around where I live, there are a few Family Videos that do very good with their rental service seeing how they have very good prices. Anyways, for the update, the games on demand feature will be nice as long as the games don't kill your hard drive. I've only got 6 gigs of memory left and I know I'm gonna have to delete some saved data to make room for others. Also, I'll enjoy the reconnection feature for the party chat. None of the other features really interest me.
