I have an idea for my next map, which is Foundry, but it requires A LOT of planning and designing. In other words, with all the skills I have for forging I would try to do my best (close to perfectionism by trial-and-error). Idea (for Foundry): create a mansion or two to three story house, using interlocking and merging of course, with at least two bed + bath rooms, a kitchen, garage, dining/living room, and backyard. The backard and front yard can be surrounded by fences (be creative). You should be as creative as you can to make windows, doors, and a basement/attic for zombies to break into. Also, since roofing isn't much of a deal, I'd use up the entire area of Foundry.
I'm still reading on "Forging 101" to see what I can design and stuff. I'm only available to forge on fridays and the weekends. I spend at least 4 hours forging, if I have time to.
Well since it is Friday and I get my Xbox 360 back tomorrow, guess I chose a pretty good time to ask. Gamertag: GeassBandit
Okay, I wrote down a page of designing, sketches, and things to ask myself. I would like to point out what the main building materials should be used and how: 1) Double/Single boxes (closed) for flooring and support beams, etc. which wil interlock with rooms and other parts of the house constructed closest to the walls (being the interlocked boxes). 2) Walls and fences for roofing, fencing (boxes may be used too), tennis court, shacks, basement entrance from outside/inside. 3) windows will be made while doing the frame of the house. 4) For the basement, I was thinking of raising the house 1/2 the height of a box. Then using interlocking and merging of other items to cover up the space, etc. 5) the backyard or front yard perimeter should give the most protection for the house, so I was thinking of using double (closed) boxes and merging/interlocking them at angle to make it look cool and interesting. Note: There's two ways of doing this house. 1) making it look like a wealthy place to be. 2) making it very messy for hiding spots and back yard traps from a junk load of mess from a shack, in which zombies die w/o a clue of what happened.
I like the first way. People have retreated to a large, fancy house that they thought could keep them safe due to it's size and security measures (take note of the "security measures" part). Let's continue this conversation in PMs.
