Quarantined Created by BraveDave Supported Gametypes: Quarantined Map Description Hey its BraveDave with my second map post. Firstly I would like to acknowledge yes i did use the Cliffside base from Erebus Beta made by CC Pybus and i take no credit for that awesome piece of forging. I did ask if I could use it but he never got back to me on that one. Quarantined is an infection map with a difference. You get to chose what type of zombie you want to be. Zombies start in a box where they chose whether to be fast with low health and poor camo, Normal speed with camo, or Normal speed with over shield. The second you take any of the power-ups it automatically teleports you to 1 of 3 places. The custom power-up takes you to the two columns with the man cannon between them. The camo takes you to the outskirts of the sandbox and the over-shield takes you to the ancient temple. All starting zombies are 150% speed and 75% gravity. The custom power-up makes them 300% speed with 50% gravity and poor camo. The humans start with a magnum and 125% damage modified. The map was build on the same concept as Erebus Beta where there are a few bases on the outside for the humans to camp in. Anyway I think the pictures will best describe the map. Starting Area Bunker 1 Bunker 2 Underground mineshaft Cliffside Cliffside 2 Random selector. Walk up to it and beat down the fusion coil and see what you get The invis Where the invis takes you The overshield Where the overshield takes you The custom power-up Where the custom power-up takes you Thanks to everyone would helped me make this map and CC Pybus for making Cliffside. It looks like a great map, the structures are very interesting. You should take a picture of an Overview (or atleast as much as you can) For infection, I would also add a color effect. Juicy works best, it darkens the entire outer region of Sandbox to make a much creepier effect.
Two things. 1. (As Halacar said) How does the selector work and what's in it? 2. Is there anything in the middle of the map? But besides that, it looks like a very cool map. I like the idea of the (pick your zombie) concept. Very original as far as I know.
I believe the random selector works like the other random boxes I've seen by dropping/pushing a bunch of weapons past a slit and you grab one random one but as for whats in it I don't know. The pick your own zombie idea is not that original but it looks like it works well on this map. What prevents killing the custom power up zombies as they go through the teleporter?
You should have showed if anything was in the middle. If there wasn't anything, you should have at least put a castle-ish base. From looking at the screenshots, I believe you could have had the budget to. Besides that, I dig the random/small/isolated outposts. Good merging, too. If there's anything interesting in the middle, I'll download it.
the third base looks kinda like a mine shaft and that i like also very nice geomerging! i never geomerge because to be honest im not good at it so whenever somebody geomerges on there maps im always impressed. the map looks kinda small but i guess ill have to download it first. more overview pics would be nice though. 8/10
Well first there is nothing in the middle but the drop to the underground mine shaft. I was planning on having a big base there but i ran out of money. Secondly I tried to come up with my own random selector but this one works a bit different. What happens is when you hit the fusion coil the grav lift( right above the fusion coildbut you cant see it) ,which is throwing all the weapons around like a washing machine, gets destroyed but it is set to instant respawn so for a split second all the weapons drop and the ones that are closet to the bottom at the time will make it past the the grav lift and straight to you.
Maybe next time, (in a v2) you could use a unlimited budget glitched map. That way, you can use everything that you want to and make it more enjoyable for everyone. And very original with the selector.
I'm rather fond of the architectural style of this map's structures: The careful and creative use of merging forms a unique and cohesive set of structures, giving great character to the environment. I especially favor the Mine shaft, for the realistic detail and design many of us imagine when we think of such a construct. This is certainly a map I'd give a go next time I'm hosting Infection. Overall: Great work! -=Moxus=-
