I want someone to seriously answer my question.

And while on the subject, why hike, ice skate? And why hang with friends, go watch games, go to events, play music? Lastly, why not play videogames?

You ask this on a site for a game.

I answer with this: 'Cause we're awesome.

The same point that makes your subject seem relevant is "why do it if we don't have much time on the earth?"

Well then, why do we do things in the first place? What warrants one person having more of a life than someone else? In other words, why should you look down on someone because playing video games is all they like to do?

Where is the line placed that tells us you have or don't have a life?

To say "going outside" gives you more of a life than video games is ludicrous. Everyone assumes that if someone plays video games a lot than they have no life. Well ... how does that make any sense? People only look down at gamers because its a very sad generalization. How does going outside give you more of a life than playing video games?

So, to sum it up, there's no such thing as "having a life" or "playing too much." You could be outside for too long just as you could be playing video games too long. Its all the same, and it boils down to what you enjoy most. If you enjoy going outside, do it. If you enjoy playing video games, do it. You may even enjoy making fun of gamers because they "have no life." Whatever the reason is, people do it because they can, and they like it. Simply put.

    No clue, Jimbo, no clue.

Also, why are so many of this threads popping up out of no where?

Because people are people. We would rather be lazy, have fun, and go places in our life that could be further [for the most part].
So a lot of us result to something that doesn't require energy, is fun, and prohibits fulfilling ourselves.

Video games are, to me, a sport. 99% of people that play football for fun don't get anything but a good time out of it, just like video games.
You obviously have never played football before.

What if they can't do anything else? Like walk, or they have no friends? What IF? That's the BIG question that everyone has. Or what if you live in a boring ass town like I do? Vegas is so boring for kids. -.-

I play video games because I can't do **** right now, but mostly because I have nothing better to do and I'm GOOD at them.

Your question is hard, but is not impossible to answer or redirect like many have done in this thread.

Why do we do anything at all? We know we're going to die, but WHY have we done ANYTHING?

So you're saying that physical assertion and bodily risk/harm is living life, aided by the fact that you are outside? That having fun is below the aforementioned in terms of the priorities in life? You are saying that we should give up the personal freedom of choosing what we enjoy, because football is considered physical, and being physical is something that is highly recommended in society. So if you are saying that, when we put things into perspective, say videogames came before football and were long considered an encouraged passtime, would videogames still be considered a waste of life because they lacked physical exertion, or would football be considered a waste of life because people have regarded videogames the acceptable passtime?

It is human nature to do the things that we enjoy and not to do the things we don't enjoy.

Seeing as noone here really took this discussion seriously, nor did anyone really stay on topic, this thread is locked. If you'd like to try again, give the OP some effort.
