Thanks to the new vB software posting pics is MUCH eaiser than the multiple step ways of before! Seriously these are the thing that we changed for.

There are two ways you can do this now, this one that skips all those "scary uploading sites" and posts it directly to FH! This is intended for beginners, and the quality is not as good as the second method. I'll show the second one later.

    1. Scroll down in your post till you see "Attach Files"

    2. A box will open. Click "Browse" and look for your picture. When you find it, click "Upload."

    3. If you see your picture has been added above "Manage Attachments" then it worked! It will now auto-matically show up in your post. :)

This is what the image will look like under your post:

That's all very nice and all but it doesn't look too good and you can't give the pictures descriptions =(

However easy steps can be done to make it look better for a bit more advance users. (Seriously though, a 3 year old could do this)

    1. This step requires you to know how to upload pictures to a uploading website such as Photobucket, Imageshack or others. It's easy to learn and the websites can explain better than I can [SIZE=-2]or want to.

    2. Now that we have a url from the uploading site (I'll use http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v15/BFU22/13155618-Full.jpg ) we can add it. But wait, it's too large, we have to make it smaller and edit all these tags right? RIGHT?

Wrong. It's much easier than before FH now sizes down for you!

    3. Now look at your Editing Bar (the one with Bold Italic Underline etc) for a button that looks like this: [IMG]

This is the image button, learn to love it. Obviously, click it now.

    4. A box will open. It's asking for your URL remember?!

    5. Paste that url in yo.

    6. Your done, your picture is in. When you post the image will automatically resize and look beautiful like this:

    The End for now.

There's a third way I'm still messing with for even advance users ( 6 year olds!)

Doesn't that mean it's a thumbnail, and therefore has to be clicked? Most people don't like thumbnails that much.

Yeah it's for beginners, as I said, who can't figure out the uploading sites.

I still go through the whole hog and make a picture high def. And I wouldn't even recommend using thumbnails when posting a map, it makes everyone cranky, and they will flame your thread.

You don't need to, look at my second example, it turns out hi-def without any editing.

But how do we get rid of that ugly: This image has been re-sized thing?
I assume there is no way.
    Very icky.

You can change the image resize option in your User CP.

    Photobucket ftw!

I like the thumbnail's though. Having a post with embedded pictures, and that at the bottom would look pretty cool, in my opinion.

    AHA!!!!

Thanks for bumping this Matty. I've been linking folks to the other thread when all they really need is to know how to post pics.

Now I can send them straight to this one.

Copy the Direct Link under your pic, and that'll work, otherwise, just copy the normal URL at the top of the page.
