    Earthquake Machine(EQM)

Basically, all this is is a test for an earthquake effect I found. The way it works is very simple, and will be explained to you with an amazing picture I made in paint. It's not 100% perfect, the warthog flies out of the shield doors sometimes, but you're welcome to use my idea and apply it to your maps or even make it better(credit me though plzzzz?).

    How it works
    [IMG]

So basically, when the vehicles are bouncing around, they'll hit the mouvable blocks causing an earthquake effect. The teleporters are there, so that the blocks will hold, but also move around.

    Pics
"Why are there even aesthetics on this? It obviously doesn't need it."
    "It was bland."

    Earthquake!!!

    Different vehicle effects
So I have now tested all the possible vehicles that can be used for this and how they affect it.

Warthog: Works great, a fair amount of vibrations, does not get stuck very often, makes lots of noise, does not kill you.
    4/5

Prowler: Works great, lots of vibrations, gets stuck often, silent, rarely kills you most of the time it will only hurt you.
    3.5/5

Hornet: Works great, lots of vibrations, rarely gets stuck, makes lots of noise, kills you sometimes.
    4.5/5

Mongoose: Does not work, no vibrations, never gets stuck, silent, never kills you.
    0/5

Scorpion: Works great, lots of vibrations, rarely gets stuck, makes lots of noise, high probability of killing you.
    4/5

Wraith: Works fine, lots of vibrations, gets stuck often, makes lots of noise, very high probability of killing you(especially when a part of it sticks out, touching it=instant suicide)
    3/5

Chopper: Works great, a fair amount of vibrations, does not get stuck, makes less noise than the hog, does not kill you. This is basically a better warthog, my personal favorite.
    5/5

Banshee: Does not work very well, lots of vibrations, gets stuck a lot, makes lots of noise, does not kill you.
    2/5

Ghost: Does not work very well, little vibrations, does not get stuck, makes little noise, does not kil you.
    1/5

When I say the amount of noise it make, vibrations, and when it kills you, I'm talking about when it hits the blocks, and it's effect on the player standing on it. I don't have a cap card, otherwise I'd give you a video tutorial.

This is a really good idea. I never would have thought of it myself. Great job. The map is simple, clean, and demonstrates it very well. I'd love to see it in a map sometime. I lol'd at your How it Works pictures though. And I will give credit to you if I ever include it in any of my maps of course It's too bad the warthog flies out of its cage sometimes though.

The video sounded like a drum intro to a metal song at first, i couldn't tell if it was music or game audio.

Very creative and demonstrative. You should claim the rights to the design though so if someone makes another pallet parade you will get mentioned. This is a great and original idea and could make a nice middle for a map.

Well now that it's up on FH, I pretty much have.
It can still be fixed simply by putting normal walls around the shield doors. I left it like that so people could see what happens during the time.

If it's not working for you, just double click on the video and you'll get sent to the version on youtube.com. That happens to me sometimes when I'm lagging.

And you could have just looked at the pictures as well. The video only shows a player on the machine. You don't need to tell what it is from a video if you just read.

    cool technique

i like the way you used the techniques to design something lik this so keep forging and maybe you could use this technique in a new map or something

I love it!. I will definataly make a map around this(I will give you credit for the idea).
Just one annoying thing is there any way to stop the warthogs making the crashing sound it pretty distracting but still this is a awsome idea 6/5 :).

Lol, it's a really good idea but you should make more tiles and space. I think it would be cool for either a Ninja Test, or an actual competitive game where top mid's all shaky. Nicely Done

That's a cool little technique. I'll be sure to use it if I need a quick centerpiece and have no ideas. I think the next step would be to make it silent, if you're up for the challenge. I think maybe interlocking warthogs and sticking them beneath the blocks might do it better.

Such a cool idea. I can imagine having the vehicle spawning later in an infeciton game, and scaring the **** out of people in a certain room.

Actually, I just tested a minute ago, and if you use a prowler instead, it's much quieter and works much better. And vehicles don't merge together.

The only problem with the prowler, is that it gets stuck really easily because of it's pointed shape, also it's fairly easy to get into the turret.
Just thought of a way this could be applied to a puzzle map using the prowler right there :)
EDIT: There's a list of all the vehicle effects now.

Its an awsome idea i tryed it with a chopper instead of a warthog and it you were right its 10 times better. I should try making a map with that in the middle. i really like this earthquake idea too.

From the other thread. That means BEFORE the guy brought the subject up. Now stop commenting on this unless it's actually a question/comment you about the map. If you wanna keep going like this, do it in a PM.
