So, by saying that the bible is wrong then god doesn't exist? You know Christianity isn't the only religion and even if all religions were proven wrong then that still wouldn't rule out the possibility of there being a god.

Im just talking about christianity's god right now because im most familar with this religion since I used to be a member of it. Im not familar with other religions beliefs or god's so I wont comment on those existing or not existing. Generaly I don't believe in a higher power but im only going to argue the non existance of the one im more familar with.

    Fire

Pointing out the fear mongering that Christians use to promote Christianity is not a scare tactic. It is only a mirror held up to scare tactics.

I don't see how you can claim there is no reference to the nature of hell in the bible. It is described over and over as a place of endless torment......and yes there's fire too.

Matthew 13:50 “furnace of fire…weeping and gnashing of teeth”
Mark 9:48 “where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched”
Revelation 14:10 “he will be tormented with fire and brimstone”
Revelation 14:11 “the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever and they have no rest day and night”
Revelation 20:14 “This is the second death, the lake of fire”
Revelation 20:15 “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire”
Luke 16:24 cries: ". . .I am tormented in this FLAME."
Luke 16:23"And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom"

There's more, if you want. There is no need for us to inflate the fear factor of hell. Christianity has done a fine job on their own.

    1. It says "as" not that it is.

    2. But it doesn't imply a causal inference. If the sun goes out the stars continue to shine so if you believe that the moon is a causal inference why not the stars as well?

Furthermore, it says the moon shall not cause her light to shine. Not the sun shall not cause the moon to shine.

    3. See 2.

    4. The causal inference 'leap-o-faith' that could be made here by the structure of this sentence would imply that if the sun goes out, the moon goes out; if the moon goes out, the stars go out and fall to earth.

This is not what the bible states but it is the same reasoning and inference that you used for point two. There is no reason to believe that the bible implies a causal inference between the two. Especially given that, even in this verse, it says "the moon shall not give her light." Her is possessive. It does not mean it belongs to someone else, it belongs to her; her being the moon. Whose light is it? The moon's. It is her light.

Does a flashlight illuminate your path if it reflected off of a mirror? Is it the mirror giving her light or is it the flashlight?

    5. See the others.

Here it comes. Like a fishing taking the bait. By stating my unswayed beliefs and hatred towards those like yourself I have created a personal attack masked as "ignorance". Yes. I am so ignorant for a having a single belief. Yes I am ignorant for believing that apples are material objects. Yes, I am ignorant for thinking differently from u.

I LOVE JEESSUUSSS. R U SAVED? LETS HAVE FUN AND SING CAMPFIRE SONGS.

Isn't it salt to the wound with all of those protestants dancing around u while u go on seeking that same kind of comfort. You are so ignorant as to hate narrow minded people but be hypocritical enough to be one yourself. U literally sit ur ass down day and night having discussions on these threads without having any social life. You either had a single mother or two ****ed up parents who stuck ur head in a jar all your childhood. They constantly complain about the cards they drew, much like yourself. U on the other hand are any age from 18 to 30. U smoke weed, u make 15 dollars and hour max( probably unemployed), u live in a shithole, and u think u know everything about life and happiness. U sir are the Stereotypical Internet Junkie.

Oh ya, like all Stereotypical Internet Junkies say at the end of their "speech".......................... **** U

You know, there is a reason we don't just throw "your mom" jokes back and forth. This isn't 4chan; this is a debate forum.

So ZOMBIECOW11, what gives you any right to call anyone a "non-believer"? You said so in the post Nitrous responded to. You see, when you put your beliefs up on a pedestal like that, you ought to realize that you're doing so without any certainty beyond your own feelings.

Why even bother responding to Slow Poke? I have every right to call unspecified people non-believers to a specific thing. For instance- there are people that don't believe in global warming (not saying anything about my opinions of it or of others) they are non-believers and they do exist. So I could say- nonbelievers ( of global warning) are awesome. There are non-believers thus making it a valid title. I don't understand why u r confused.

    wow

My main point is, everyone has their own distinct beliefs, so how can one be better?

(Not pertaining to any previous posts)
Two words, Quantum Physics. look it up and you will believe god is possible.
For example, electrons don't move, they teleport immensely microscopic distances, but they do teleport, all of them, everywhere, all the time. chances of teleporting across the room are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000-1 but still possible, the chances of random teleportation across the galaxy are even less than that but still POSSIBLE.
So if that is true then I'm willing to believe anything, all i'm asking is that you look at a video or two and then respond, do not even mention this post if you haven't looked it up yet.

    Edit

    You apparently said this......

....clearly claiming one is better and that the other isn't even a valid argument, but a desperate attempt for attention and majority status.

Then you edited your earlier post to remove that sentence and asked this....

What it sounds like you're saying is that because Quantum Physics is such a complex field, extremely hard to grasp even with years and years of study, that it must be magic.

By this logic, Quantum Physics is so mind blowing that you now also believe it's possible that I urinate pure gold!

That's not what I meant, I meant that if thing can teleport on their own, yet nobody has witnessed it happen any real distance, but it has been confirmed possible, so basically, god has been proven POSSIBLE, with no extreme evidence, people die then come back to life a few seconds later, they were physically dead, no heartbeat, no brainwaves, then "cough, cough, cough" they "magically" as you said i believe, come back to life, this evidence is similar to the electrons, small inconclusive evidence that scientists believe counts on one side but not the other, this is a cop-out, a double standard, that is what keeps this "debate" (fight, controversy) going, all in all under the first amendment everyone has freedom of religion and speech, now the speech is not completely free, as long as it doesn't impede on existing laws and amendments so you can say what you want as long as it doesn't impede or establish any sort of restriction or intolerance against religion, so therefore (if you count typing as speech) arguing about god as being real or not is illegal.

You lost me there at the end. Let's try to stay on the topic you brought up. I'm not saying that there are not amazing phenomena all over the universe in many shapes and forms including effects studied in the field of Quantum Physics. What I'm saying is we have absolutely no evidence that there is some type of entity or being behind these effects. It is very strange that sub atomic particles can exist in more than one place at the same time, but just because it's strange does not mean God did it. We have been witnessing strange phenomena since the beginning of civilataztion, and as we study(scientifically) we have been able to understand and explain the universe around us. It is a giant leap to say that just because we don't understand something yet that there must be a supernatural being behind it all.

There has to be something up there that created this. The Big Bang Theory is void.

Where the bloody hell did the asteroids come from?

    Evolution.

Where did the monkeys come from?
    Cells.

Where`d the Cells come from, The Asteroid Chunks.

The Asteroid Chunks come from the asteroid.

This leads me back to my original Question.

Where did the asteroid come from?

    Can anyone answer that question?

I can. Another galaxy. Made by god.

What the **** are you on? There are mountains of evidence for the big bang- there's really no arguing that it happened.
How the hell can you think that evolution created asteroids? You obviously have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

To say monkeys came from cells is like saying 'houses come from bricks.' It is not correct in any sense of the word.

How exactly does that prove god? Yes, people have told you over and over again that god made the universe, but that is just as logical as a magical teapot creating the universe. Just saying that God made the universe isn't enough.

Harry Potter can probably do that- should we worship him too?

    A) The debris field around the sun formed an asteroid belt. It was from an asteroid belt.
    B) It split from another half of an asteroid.
    C) It separated from one of the planet's rings.
    D) A massive collision split a chunk of rock from a planet.

    No

    No

    No

    No

I'd certainly hope that asteroid chunks don't come from anything else but an asteroid, otherwise its name is misleading. Unless you're talking about some awesomely named cereal, in which case you are incorrect (again).

See above comment on asteroids (hint: it came from space and is the result of the formation of our solar system)

    Just did :D

    Prove it.

I never specified that a belief is better ( though I do prefer one obviously). But the type of people that I described such as those who shoot down us that have a particular belief are lesser people.

Because anyone who calls you out on your close mindedness *obviously* doesn't know anything about life.

We're here to debate! You can't just say "all the non-theists shut-up, because if you don't believe in my religion then you're obviously wrong, and sprouting your lies makes you lesser people". Lesser to who exactly? Lesser to awesome people like you.

Learn, throw away your prejudice, or leave.
