I really hope this isn't old, sorry if it is.

While I was messing around on Foundry, I noticed something about the doors. They aren't completely solid. You guys already know that of course but I found out something else. I was lining up a bunch of Double Boxes to make a surface. Then, I flipped a door on its side as was going to use it as a cover. I put it in the wrong place so I was going to move it but my controller spazzed and I picked up one of the Double Boxes below it. The box recognized the non-solid part of the door as solid and pushed it into the ground. I tried it a few more times and got some funny results. You can even use them to interlock other items without having to start a new round. It also works with window panels. The only thing is that it is very unpredictable and takes a few tries to get what you want perfectly straight.

Summary: Doors / Window Panels can be used to merge items with map geometry or other items.

If this is old, you have the right to face fish slap me.

    *fish face slaps*

It's old but I don't think its on a forge 101 so I'm sure somebody will find this useful. I prefer the long method though, seems to give more predictable results.

I know that there is already a technique to doing this but with the other way it takes longer, right? Isn't it...

Measure Height > Spawn DBL Box > Place At Start : No > New Round > Spawn Object Underneath DBL Box > Save in Place.

    I think..

Spawn Item > Place Door Sideways or Upside-Down on Item > Grab Item and Let Go.

    Is way easier. Right?

    Nevermind, thanks Mallet.

merging with geometry is old Shihuru but this door/window method is new to me. I'll have to try this out. it would save a lot of "starting new round/wait for solid object to spawn" time. idk maybe it is old but I haven't seen it anywhere before. thanks Caretaker

This is new to me at the very least, and is much easier imo than the other method.
I find the original method hard to get my head around and feel it takes too long.
this however is relatively simple and is quite easy to do things at angles as you can simply float the door at the same angle as the box/<insert immovable object here> place your guider objects and press a

This method has been mentioned in an old thread and was utilised by Furious in his map Exacted. It's a very useful technique.

Ah, thanks Shock and Furious. At least I hope that this will tell some more people so they aren't stuck doing it the harder way.

    Edit: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2948

That's how Furious found out. Credit goes to Scribner, I guess.

This method is kind of a "chance" method. Usually, the object will be slanted unless you like put all 6 doors in.
